TW- BLOOD/PROFANITY/HARSH BEHAVIOR

--(Y/N) POV---
"Here, take my hand," I offer the woman who sits motionless on the bloodied gravel. "I will not hurt you, I promise."
She looks up at me before deciding to accept my helping hand and stands up with a bit of a wobble. Her breaths are slow, steady, and faint. It's calm. I count her breaths to distract my mind from the awkward silence that surrounds us. My patience gets the best of me, "Ma'am, do you have a house I can escort you to?"
"You," she mumbles.
"Ma'am, last time I checked, I am not a house," I joke. "Now will you please-"
She snaps her head to look at me in the eye while she cuts me off with the tip of her finger, pressing on my chapped lips. The hazel in her eyes is hard to make out in the alley's darkness, but the colour shines brightly with her determination.
"Your name is (Y/N)."

"Room for one, please," I say to the poor old man at the check-in table. He looked shriveled and starved. The man looks as if he hadn't eaten properly in months, maybe even years. I take in his poor figure as a small smirk forms on my face, "Not for long."
He looks up at me, confused. Shit, I said that out loud, didn't I. "I won't be staying long," I quickly correct myself while smiling at him.
He decides to move on from my correction. "Okay, each night for a single is five pieces of gold. A double would be seven," he delightfully says, keeping that eye contact with me. He seems like a nice man.
I smile back at him, "A single would do fine." I toss over a small pouch of gold for the room key. The pouch probably had much more gold than the amount asked for. He'll need the gold much more than I would. "Thank you," I nod as I walk away, directing myself to the singular bedroom. The floor creaks from under my feet, giving the Inn an un-sturdy feeling. I sigh as I make my way through the bedroom door.
The room is dark and cold because of the current winter storm that coats the lands of this kingdom. I'm unable to find the name of this kingdom, but I'll be able to find out soon enough. This kingdom was only but another replica of rest I had fled. Starving families with the threatening stares you receive when entering the town center. Cruel guards stealing goods from the small street shops. It was awful, but it was also the way of life.
I didn't receive those looks anymore though. I wore a midnight black cloak to cover my identity. Ever since word got out that I was still alive from the day I escaped the Yarin Empire, they have wanted me. To top it all off, they wanted me dead. Every empire, every kingdom, hell, every village wanted my dead body for the reward of eternal luxury and wealth.
But there was a rebellion. Those who saw my actions were of their better use. The people who recognized my commitment to free the kingdoms from all brutal demand of the rulers.
I let the hood of my cloak rest on my shoulders. The tips of my ears are overwhelmed by the cold the room carries. I don't mind it though. The warmth reminded me of the fresh blood of the dead people I dread. I never said I enjoyed killing people. I always thought that someday I would feel the guilt of my wrathful acts, but they never hit.
The Inn is located in the town's square. With this location, it was very easy to view the citizens below trading goods with one another. Guards of the palace roamed the streets, keeping the people in order. They were the people I needed to stay clear of.
