#19. Icarus and His Sun

"Chalo."

"Kahan?" Regardless of the question, Bani stood up and gave him her hand. His wings stretched out. His wings in his human form were larger and were quite stronger. "Bohot acche dikh rahe ho but main ud nahi sakti."

"Main toh ud sakta hun."

He picked her up and started flying up.

"Veeranshu, I swear. Niche utaro. Main gir jaaungi."

She was used to Veer picking her up and taking her with him but this flying was something else. She did usually worry that theywould fall down.

"Haan toh stunts mat karo. Acche se pakdo mujhe."

"Mujhe tumne giraya na toh dekhlo."

"Arrey, mujhe practice hai tumhe unthane ka. Pehle bhi tumhe aise leke ud chuka hun."

"Aur yeh kab hua? Mujhe pata hota agar tum mujhe kahin aise uda ke le jaate to."

"Tum behosh thi."

She then remembered what incident he was speaking of. That tempo blast incident but then she remembered having talon marks on her shoulder.

"Haan par panjo ka nishan tha."

"Jab tempo blast hua toh main cheel roop mein tha toh waise hi pakad liya. I didn't have the time to transform. Neeche utara but you were already out. Toh aise hi baahon me leke gaya. The thing is that you thanked me and insulted me in the same sentence that night."

"Haan toh tabh tum badtameez the. And I had reasons not to like you."

Bani held on tightly to him.

"Waah, matlab decide hi kar liya tha ki main kisi kaam ka nahi."

"Oh, please. Usi raat ko tum seedha ghar pahuch gaye the Meera di se shaadi karne."

"Sweetheart, tumhe bhi pata tha ki main tumhare liye aaya tha."

"Please. Tum sirf apne liye aaye the."

"Haan. Half-way true kyuki mujhe tum chahiye thi. So, yes, you can say that."

Once the initial worry had disappeared, she held on to him properly. She worried when she was carried by Sam in her Naagin but with Veer she didn't worry at all. He landed after a while near cliff. There was a cave near the cliff. There was a nest of an eagle. Veer climbed up the tree and brought down the eagle.

Bani actually moved away.

"Hatao..." Bani moved away. Veer laughed.

"Kuch nahi karega, sweetheart."

"Hum yahan eagles dekhne aaye hai?"

"Yeh hai Bani. You know about Bani na? Darao mat use." Veer spoke to the bird. It was still a baby bird. Just recently seemed to have grown feathers properly. Veer groomed the bird, taking away the leaved and dry straw on his feathers. Veer checked the wings of the bird. Slowly enough, the bird moved closer to check Bani. "Its okay, sweetheart. He's not going to harm you."

"Hum yahan eagles dekhne aaye hai?"

"Adi-Naagin ek normal cheel se dar gayi, Kya Bani?" He teased her.

"Haha haha... so funny. Main use harm nahi kar sakti but it can still harm. Uska nature hai apne aap ko protect karne ke liye attack karna but mujhe pata hai he doesn't do it with malicious intent. So, I cannot hurt it."

"He was a little tiny fledgling who had just hatched a while ago. One of the kites had grabbed hold of him and almost made him its prey. Maine interfere nahi kiya because of its general nature for predator birds to eat their prey. Phir woh us kite ke panjo se gira and the kite didn't bother to swoop down and get it back because it found another fish. Tabh girte hue iss chote se baby ko maine pakada aur yahan le aya. Abhi bohot chota hai." Veer started telling her.
