Hailey's POV
Mouse had found a location on the suspect. We all went out to vest up. I tried making eye contact with Jay, but as soon as we looked in each other's eyes he looked away and back at Erin. Him and Erin have their past but I'm still his girlfriend. I feel kind of bad about being with him in a way. Our relationship is good, and I love him, I'm just not sure if he's in love with me anymore. When Erin arrived at the district and saw Jay and I flirting, he pushed me away like he was ashamed of having moved on. It took years for him to get over Erin. Don't get me wrong, I like Erin she's really nice and for the short time I got to work with her, she was amazing. And there must be more good about her than what I got to know.
I walked over to Erin because I had something to ask her about.
"Hey. Do you have a minute to talk?" I asked her.
"Yeah sure." Erin answered. "Let's go in here."
We went into a separate room so we could talk in private.
"Just say if this is uncomfortable. But how long did it take you to move on from Jay?" I said.
"Oh, It's completely fine. To be honest I never really moved on. I've had a few boyfriends, but none felt right. Why are you asking?" Erin said.
"It's just that, I'm the first serious girlfriend has had since you. The thing is, I think some part of him is still in love with you." I spoke. Erin raised her eyebrows in a curious but happy way.
"Really?" Erin asked with a smile on her face.
"I... I didn't mean to interrupt your relationship with Jay. I feel bad about this. I love him too, but he seems so happy with you. I did notice how he pushed you away though. I never came here to win him back or ruin what you guys have together." Erin said.
