Kim’s POV
“Have you guys seen Erin?” Voight seemed worried. I got very confused, weren’t those two at the same place.
“No, why?” Atwater and I replied.
“We took a look at where the fire originated from, then we split up, because she wanted to take a look around for any signs of the copycat, and now she’s gone.” Voight’s voice cracked when he said the last part.
“Do you know where she went to look for the guy?” I asked.
“No, she didn’t specifically tell me where she was going, but she walked in the direction toward the kitchen.”
“Okay, then we’ll start by checking the kitchen.” I put my hand on Voights shoulder to try and calm him down.
The three of us walked to the kitchen. At first there was no sign of her, so Atwater and I pulled our guns out, and opened all the cabinets and doors located in the kitchen. Meanwhile Voight stood at the opening to the living and stared at us, it was obvious that he was extremely worried about her.
“No sign of her here. You got anything?” Atwater said.
“Nope, nothing here. Have you checked the door to the back?” I asked him
“No, I’ll check it out now.” Atwater walked to the back door.
“Footsteps, FOOTSTEPS!” We suddenly heard Voight say.
“Calm down, where? Atwater asked Voight.
“There, on the floor. It looks like a man’s footsteps.” Voight said.
“Oh yeah, they’re definitely not Erin’s.” I looked at the floor.
“That’s what I’m saying. Now get to work and find my girl. I’ll call the others, so they can help.” Voight got back into his boss role, but was still shook, I could see that on his face.
