Jay’s POV
“There! There she is! Right there, she’s running toward us!” I shouted in the car at Hailey who was driving. My heart dropped for a second, when I noticed her, I couldn’t handle losing her, not right now, and definitely not because of that scumbag.
“OK, OK, Jay, calm down, we’ll go get her, I’ll speed up.” Hailey answered me back. She seemed tense, I don’t know why though. Thankfully this truck is a fast accelerator, so we quickly sped up and reached Erin before I could blink twice. I rolled down my window to get Erin’s attention.

Voight is practically Erin’s dad, and she’ll almost always be on his side no matter what.

“Why do I feel like he made you dig up the body?” I asked, wondering if I was right.
“It’s because he did, but I thankfully didn’t reach the body before I realised, that I could just hit him with the metal shovel he had handed me, so I did that and immediately ran toward the road, where I ran into you.”
“That sounds awful” I thought to myself after Erin told us that. Then I had a realisation…
