Fear

I'm not going to leave you

Felix got up from Jeongin's body and ran towards the edge.

He didn't think twice, he did what he had to do.

Felix jumped into the void right after Hyunjin. He could see Hyunjin falling down. Fear shadowing his eyes.

"Hyunjin, take my hand." Hyunjin reached out to Felix and took a hold of his hand, it was ice cold. Felix pulled Hyunjin to his embrace as the speed increased. He tightened his arms around Hyunjin and turned his back to the ground pushing Hyunjin upwards.

i don't care if I die today, at least it's with you

Felix closed his eyes as he felt his back hit the hard ground.

Pain

As soon as he hit the ground Felix shot up from where he was lying on gasping for breath. His vision was slowly coming into focus and he could hear the heavy breathing of another male next to him. He was back in his cell. He could see Minho leaning on the glass, unconscious.

"What happened? Where's Hyunjin?"

Felix looked around to see the familiar cells and a few passed out game participants in front of him.

Felix looked inside the cell infront of him only to see a pale boy lying motionless on the floor, a blank stare and blood coming out of his nose.

Felix tumbled backwards falling on the floor.

he was dead, it was the game. Hyunjin, Jeongin none of them were here, it wasn't real

It was all a part of the game. The first trial.

They were tested with their biggest fears. The only way to pass the trial was to overcome it and survive.

Wasn't winning the battle against Jeongin his first trial?

The games master walked up to Felix's cell and smiled. "Come with me." and stared at him as he tried to regain his balance and stand up.

"Congratulations! You're the first to successfully finish the trials without dying. This will increase your chance at winning and everyone who survived the trials will consider you as their top opponent. Good luck on the upcoming trials."

He said as he dragged Felix through corridors to a vast room with cameras. From a nearby screen he could see the roaring g crowd outside watching him through the cameras, cheering.

"People we have our first candidate for this year's winner. Those who made their bets over this participant, please come to the main room to collect your money."

"We saw everything... Who was that dark haired man?" Changbin's brother questioned Felix who was now in the main room after changing back into his white uniform.

Felix looked away uninterested in answering. He walked up to Felix and grabbed his chin in a harsh manner. "Won't answer me?"

"Hyung, stop. You won all the money because of him." Changbin stepped forward placing his hand over his brother's, moving it away from Felix.

"I didn't think this pipsqueak would even last a minute." His brother scoffed and went out of the room. Felix just sat there rubbing his hands together to get rid of the chill going through his spine.

"You okay?"

"Do I look like I am?"

"Sorry my bad..." Changbin apologized as he sat down next to Felix on the couch.

"What happened? All I remembered was entering the room and starting the trial, it all felt so real but... but how did I end up there?"

Changbin sighed and turned towards Felix. "Let me explain it to you. The first trial is there to see if you're ready to go on an actual one on one battle against another person. If you can't even overcome your own fear how can you defeat another opponent? A cruel way to test someone but yeah..."

"Remember them giving you a pill while you were changing? That pill works as a sedative slowly cutting you off from the real world and entering you into the virtual reality it creates around you finding your deepest fears. Then after you enter the unconcious state they simply took you to the a different room that connects to your virtual reality through censors so it would be displaced on a screen to be seen."

"That's how we saw how you fought in there with a young blue haired boy and jumping off the the void to save someone, both of them I'm assuming are people from your real life. That's why it felt real. Your fear was the void but you overcame it by throwing your own life into danger to save that other person. Thus completing the first trial."

"After the trial finished they dragged you back to your cell and waited for you to regain consciousness, you were passed out for about three hours. For most people it takes up to six hours but you..."

Felix blinked twice. so I was right, it wasn't real after all

Changbin gave a worried look at Felix's blank stare. "I heard the pill sometimes have side effects like insomnia, nausea, agitation, numbness to name a few. You sure you're okay?"

"My head hurts. I just need to rest." Felix said as the guards came in to take him back to his cell.

Minho was awake and was laughing to himself.

"Hyung what happened to you?"

"Me? I'm completely fine." He kept on laughing.

"You know what's funny Felix? They made me choose between killing both of my parents or hannie. It was either them or him..."

"Oh god..."

"I hate this fucking game but they did not expect what I did. I was going to fail no matter who I chose so I improvised." Minho sat down on the floor resting his head on the the glass right next to Felix.

"So what did you do?"

"Nothing much. I just aimed the goddamn gun at my own head and pulled the trigger." He turned his head towards Felix and smiled.

i also did not expect that answer, he's way scarier than i thought he'd be

"Felix?" Felix turned his back up as heard a familiar voice call his name. It was Chan.

"I heard what happened during the trial from Changbin. He seems to be very interested in you..." Felix looked away as he popped the blue pill into his mouth and swallowing it dry without waiting for Chan to bring water.

Chan paced back and forth in his small med cubicle.

"You really jumped into the void without thinking twice for Hyunjin didn't you?"

"I was scared of the void, everytime I looked at it I kept seeing my parents... But loosing him... I was better off dead without him." Felix looked down on his lap.

"I know Felix, I know. But now you have to focus, the real battle starts now. The one on one matches. I believe you can win this thing and get yourself out."

"Me? Win a death match by myself?"

"I believe in you Felix, there's no other way. The games are too powerful. I might not be able to get you out just now. We need to buy ourselves time till Hyunjin comes."

Felix sighed.

time? All I knew was that I was running out of it, fast
