Void

Hyunjin knew Seungmin was glancing at him secretly as they walked next to each other, heading towards the wasteland.

Great, I bet he's feeling bad for me

Hyunjin pretended as if he didn't notice anything.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Seungmin asked hesitating.

Hyunjin looked at Seungmin. He felt pathetic but at the same time there was a hint of happiness in there, because he knew he had someone who was willing to listen to him. But talking about Felix was the last thing Hyunjin wanted now.

"No, I'm good." Hyunjin quickened his pace making Seungmin run a little to catch up to him.

"You know how to tie a knot right? Make it a double knot just in case. I'll watch around to see if anyone catches us." Hyunjin patted Seungmin's shoulder as he handed him the rope.

This was it they were actually going down to the  void not knowing what horrors were going to meet them.

Seungmin signaled to Hyunjin after tying the rope tightly on to a heavy iron beam next to the red flag. Hyunjin nodded once as Seungmin fastened the lightened up torch to the side of his satchel Doc gave him and started to lower himself down into the void.

Hyunjin watched as the light of the torch got fainter and fainter hidden under the trees below. No answer from Seungmin. Hyunjin wanted to call his name but he couldn't risk getting caught.

Just then he saw a small light going on and off through the trees. It was Seungmin's signal, Hyunjin smiled to himself and got a hold of the rope getting ready to climb down himself but he suddenly heard men shouting.

"He's there." It was his brother's men.

Shit. I have to find Felix, I can't get caught

Hyunjin didn't care how dangerous it was, he slid down the rope in rapid speed hoping to get down as fast as he could. He was almost to the ground when he felt them pulling the rope up from above. There was no other option.

Hyunjin let go of the rope and jumped down. It was only a few feet from the ground but it still hurt like hell. Seungmin ran up to Hyunjin and kneeled beside him, helping him to get up.

Hyunjin glanced up towards the edge. They didn't seem to be coming down. Maybe they were too scared to do so.

He let out a deep breath and took Seungmin's extended hand and got up to his feet.

"Don't look at me like that, it didn't hurt." Hyunjin lied. Seungmin quickly looked away and cleared his throat.

"While you were climbing down I navigated the tunnel, let's go its over there." Seungmin flashed his torch towards a huge arch carved to the rocky walls of the void.

Just as they entered the tunnel they heard raspy howling noises of something that seemed to be coming from the place they got down.

"What the fuck was that?" Hyunjin turned his head towards the entrance behind him as they crossed over.

"Seems like whatever that is, is far away. But I say let's make this quick. I don't want to stick around to find out." Seungmin said as he tightened his grip on the torch.

"Yeah let's go." Hyunjin drew his sword as they reached the end of the tunnel. The pitch black darkness was slowly fading as they reached the other end of the tunnel. It was getting less darker but didn't mean it was bright either.

The walk through the tunnel felt like forever. Hyunjin slashed off the thick vines covering the exit of the tunnel to enter a open sky canyon.

Seungmin walked behind Hyunjin who was clearing the path after switching the torch off.

The light there was enough to see and a torch light was only going to attract unwanted attention. Seungmin checked time from the small pocket watch he carried around and gasped.

"We've been walking around for about five hours now."

"Let's take a break. Water?" Seungmin threw Hyunjin small bottle of water.

"What about food?" Hyunjin asked as he carefully took a sip from the bottle, careful not to waste it.

Seungmin rummaged through his bag and took out two syringes outside.

"First let's sit under there. Both of us are too tired and drained, we'll have to settle in here for the time being before moving again." Seungmin said pointing out to a small space on the ground that was hidden because of the huge tree roots rising above the ground on either sides.

It was a perfect spot in case anything came around.

"Fine, we'll take turns to keep watch." Hyunjin said as he helped Seungmin to climb up the root and jump into the small space.

Seungmin grabbed Hyunjin by the wrist and without a question injected the liquid in the syringe into his hand. Hyunjin flinched as the needle pierced his skin.

"This is a drug, its not effective like food but it can keep us alive and kicking. Just need to take a small dose every few hours." Seungmin said at injecting it into his own hand and settling down on the ground next to Hyunjin who was holding his sword sitting next to him.

Seungmin laid down on the cold ground. This whole place seemed like something out of those movies he used to watch when he was at home. It didn't feel real but what felt more unreal was Hyunjin sitting next to him.

He was attractive no doubt about it.

The way Hyunjin was sitting, the way he brushed his hair off from his face, the way drops of sweat rolled down his neck, his Adam's apple moving every once in a while as he swallowed.

Seungmin dared to bring his eyes up to Hyunjin's face. Hyunjin was looking at something way beyond the trees.

His lips.

They were so beautiful and soft. Even if their surrounding was kind of dark, to Seungmin Hyunjin's ethereal features were crystal clear.

Seeing him up close like this... no I shouldn't be doing this

Seungmin turned his back towards Hyunjin, he knew his face was bright red by now. Good thing Hyunjin was looking away.

Seungmin pretended to sleep till Hyunjin tapped on his shoulder to switch up.
