Chapter 34 Patrols and Sleepovers

  The crime rate in New York was rising fast. Which immediately caught the attention of the media and simultaneously made Chris and the whole team eager to finally go out again and actually kick ass. Everyone was currently sitting in the living room at Chris's house going over where everyone would be placed so they could help the most. And since there was such a large amount of crime lately everyone would be going out on there own accept for (y/s/n) who was paired up with Mindy for safety.
  As the meeting ended Chris, (y/n), and (y/s/n) headed to there rooms to change into there costumes, Dave and Mindy waited in the living room already in there superhero outfits. (Y/s/n) practically bolted to the room, ecstatic to finally be able to become White Lightning for the first time ever. (Y/n) looked at the custom made costume Chris had ordered. Everything about it was perfect. Carefully (y/n) slipped it on and walked over to the mirror. (Y/n) smiled and spun around admiring the power that came with the costume. (Y/s/n) walked over to (y/n) and looked at her reflection then at her sister.
  *We look incredible sis.* (Y/s/n) said still admiring the costumes. *We really do. We just became some very important women (y/s/n).* (y/n) said with pride. *I can finally do something good for once.* (Y/s/n) said. (Y/n) looked over at her with a questioning look but didn't get to question it because (y/s/n) bolted out the door and downstairs ready to spring into action. (Y/n) shrugged it off and followed her also eager to fight some crime.
  After about a solid 30 minutes of compliments on the new Black Out and White Lightning costumes and triple checking that everyone had what they needed, the team separated into three groups. Mindy and (y/s/n) went to the northern side of town. Dave went east and Chris and (y/n) went to both the south and west sides of town. As the teams departed (y/n) pulled (y/s/n) aside. *Hon I need you to keep in touch with me frequently. Like every 20 minutes I want to hear from you. Stay right with Mindy and do whatever she says, and if you dont feel like you can handle something just stand back and let Mindy take care of it.* (y/n) said rambling on and on.
  (Y/s/n) rolled her eyes but smiled knowing this was coming. (Y/n) pulled (y/s/n) in for another hug and departed for the few hours everyone decided would be a good time. (Y/n) walked with Chris giving a nervous glance back to (y/s/n) every few seconds. Chris noticed and put a supportive hand on (y/n) shoulder. *She will be just fine. Mindy is the best person to be looking after (y/s/n). She wont let anything happen to her.* Chris said trying to comfort and ease (y/n). *Besides you can check up on her any time you want.* Chris said referring to the walkie talkies. (Y/n) broke out of the nervous state of mind that was holding you captive and looked over at Chris.  
  *Your right Chris thank you. Its just hard knowing that I dont have a visual over her. This is the first time we have been apart since we were abducted.* (Y/n) said in a low tone. *Well I know she will be just fine Mindy can handle anyone and anything.* Chris said. (Y/n) took a deep breath. *I feel a little better about letting her go out without me now.* (Y/n) said turning and smiling at Chris. With (y/n) now in a better state of mind Chris pulled the Mist Mobile out of the driveway.
  Cory Harrington walked along the sidewalk by the van when the tracker that was placed on the Mist Mobile alerted him that it was moving. Cory ran back to the van. *We have movement everyone get off your lazy asses and start luring them to us.* Everyone scrambles out of the van and split up to start there crime spree. Meanwhile Chris and (y/n) drove around the south side of New York but everything was quiet and peaceful so Chris moved them to the west.
  Not even 5 minutes later (y/n) spotted a man breaking into a jewelry store. Chris parked and after (y/s/n) updated them that she was fine, (y/n) and Chris snuck into the store after the burglar. Chris went in first and checked out the area then when everything was clear motioned for (y/n) to follow. The burglar was unaware anyone had seen him because he was making a lot of noise and singing to himself while heisting the jewels. (Y/n) signaled to Chris to serve as back up as you flew up to the culprit and used the chain on the Kusarigama to knock him out.
  In a matter of minutes he fell unconscious. (Y/n) looked closely at the burglar and the many tattoos that covered his arms. Most of which were real pieces of art but (y/n) shuddered at one tattoo in particular. It was the Genisis logo. Chris came up and made sure there was no one else in the building then tripped the alarm. (Y/n) and Chris bolted before the police could try and blame them. As the two sped off Chris could tell something was bothering (y/n).
  *Do you want to tell me what is on your mind (y/n)?* Chris asked. (Y/n) hesitated for a moment. *It might just be a coincidence but that man had the Genisis logo tattooed on him.* (Y/n) said. Chris thought for a moment but was interrupted by (y/s/n) update. *Hey sis everything is fine and I even got to throw a few punches at the bad guys we got tonight!* (Y/s/n) exclaimed. Mindy chimed in every once in a while but didn't say too much until (y/s/n) got real quiet.  
  *So (y/n) do you think you could let (y/s/n) have a sleepover with me?* Mindy asked abruptly. (Y/n) was taken aback by the proposal but the two pleaded and eventually (y/n) gave in wanting to give (y/s/n) a little freedom and normalcy. *Ok you can go but I need you to keep me posted. Have fun you two and be careful.* (Y/n) said. The pair promised and took off to Mindy and Marcus's house and (y/n) and Chris headed back too. *Im glad you are taking my advice. It will be good for (y/s/n) to spend time with just Mindy.* Chris said. (Y/n) nodded lost in thought and worries.
