"Asami!" A man called for his 8 year old daughter "Asami come down there's someone I want you to meet" a raven haired little girl made her way down stairs finding a large built man, a older woman, and a young woman. the three of them had caramel skin and piercing blue eyes. Asami hid behind her father since she was very shy "Asami, you remember my friend Tonraq, the Chief of the south water tribe, you met him during one of the council meetings" he earned a nod from the girl
"hey Asami, it's nice to see you again" Tonraq gave her a warm smile "This is my wife Senna" he gestured to the young woman "and this is Katara" he gestured to the older woman.
"Hi" Asami said shyly still hiding behind her father
"My daughter is a waterbender and she needs to master it, Katara is the only one that can teach her since I'm busy doing my duties" he explained "but Katara has to move here since her daughter-in-law is pregnant and she has to be here for her since she's a healer, and your father and I agreed on letting my daughter stay here with you till she master's waterbending or when the baby is already delivered. so do you think you can keep her company?"
"yeah" she slowly moved away from her father
"perfect" he smiled "bring her in" he called and 2 guards dressed in watertribe gear walked in with a caramel skin girl, who was the same height as Asami "Asami this is my daughter Korra, she's your age, Korra this is Asami and her father, Hiroshi, they agreed on letting you stay here"
"hi Asami and Hiroshi" Korra said with a smile and noticed the girl's eyes were a emerald green "I like your eyes"
"thank you" she tried to hide her blush "your eyes are pretty too" The two fathers continued talking to each other about their personal lives since they were friends, well more like acquaintances, Asami continued to stare at the tribe girl who was talking to Katara
"Alright" Tonraq said "we should get going if we want to make it before night fall" he laughed "Korra, be nice and don't get in trouble" he earned a laughed and nod from the girl "okay, Katara well take you back to the south when you master your bending, I love you" and with that he shook Hiroshi's hand and left with his wife and the older woman with the guards close behind
"Alright girls, I have to make a quick call, you ladies have fun" he smiled "I'll have the cooks start lunch" he said as he walked away leaving the two girls alone
Asami walked away into the living room hoping Korra would follow, which she did. "what do you want to do?" the tan girl asked but she just earned a shrug as they sat down on the couch "we can ask each other questions to get to know one another" Korra suggested and earned a nod from the girl "you ask first"
"how old are you?"
"7" she smiled
"ha I'm older than you" she teased "I'm 8"
"are you royalty or just rich? because I see a whole bunch of maids and butlers"
"just rich, my dad is the inventor of the Satomobiles and owns his own company"
"thats cool" Korra was in awe
"when do you start your lessons?"
"tomorrow, Katara is going to pick me up, so while you're at school I'm doing waterbending"
"how long does it take to master waterbending?" Asami asked another question
"not sure, it can take months maybe years"
