A/N Another chapter!!! Please don't take offence to anything, any similar events or names are coincidental. This ones a little different, Percabeth is married with kids. So, I know the other one with kids said they had a daughter and a son, but in this one they have twins: a girl, Zoe, and a boy, Luke, who are in preschool, a two year old, Silena, and another one on the way. Also, I know the picture makes Danni look like she teaches an older grade, but she's a preschool teacher, okay? On to the chapter.
Half an hour ago, I'd told the children to build a block tower, and now it was almost nap time. I finished putting some papers in a file and called out to the kids. "Okay everybody, time for nap time! Put the blocks back in their bins and come to me for a mat!" This was where I might have some trouble. One of my students, Luke loved to build, and he built amazing things. Last week he'd built an exact replica of the Empire State Building. I mean, his mother is the C.E.O. of Olympus Architecture, the leading architecture firm in New York, but still! He's three! Anyways, he loves block time, and sometimes it's hard to tear him away. His twin however, Zoe, loves nap time so she sometimes helps get him away from the blocks. And then it's hard to get her awake. But no matter the difficulties, I love my job. I come back to the present to see most people are putting the last of their blocks in one of the three big bins. Except Luke. He's putting the last of his block on his replica of the Taj Mahal. I don't understand. They're preschool blocks, and he's three and a half! But anyways. "Lukie come on!" Zoe says, tugging at her brothers arm. "I want to sleep now!" "I'm almost done! I just have a couple more blocks to add!" Luke replies, still focused on his building. That's another thing. Both of the twins talk like somebody twice their age, maybe more. "But it's nap time, not block time!" Zoe retorts. "And after nap time, Ms. Franklin said she got a water table we can use!" At this Luke perks up and starts putting away his blocks. To be Frank (A/N I had to), I'm surprised that was so easy. I'll have to remember that the twins like water...
-----Ava will take you to the end of the school day now.-----
All of the kids had been picked up except the twins, whose mother had called saying that both of their meetings were running late, and she was really sorry, but could the twins stay just another half an hour, and then either she or their dad would be there? I said yes, of course. Teachers aren't supposed to have favourites, but Zoe and Luke are mine. And they were fine with the arrangement, they were having the time of their lives with the water table. Suddenly Zoe splashed Luke with water. It looked almost as though she did it without her hands... But that wasn't possible... Of course not Danni, I told myself with a shake of my head. That's ridiculous, you're just tired. "Ha! I got you Lukie!" Zoe cried. "I told you not to call me that, and - ," and here he paused to splash his sister right back, "I got you too, bigger than you got me!" "Okay, you two, break it up. No splashing each other, okay?" I interjected. "Okay, Ms. Franklin," the twins chorused.
I glanced out the window, just as a sea green Mercedes-Benz (A/N I looked it up and that's a new-ish type of car, I think, but I was never into cars, so if something is wrong, let me know.) pulled up outside the door. I could see two people in the front, a man in the drivers seat, and a woman in the passenger seat. I was excited to meet the twins mother. I'd only ever seen her from a distance, as I talked to another child's parents. It was usually their dad who picked them up, Percy Jackson, an Olympic swimmer, and leading marine biologist. He got out of the car, walked around, and opened Annabeth's door for her. What a gentlemanly thing to do. When she came out, I realized she was pregnant. It was barely noticeable, she was probably only in the late third month or so. (A/N I feel really awkward writing this....) She moved to the back, and took a small girl, who looked to be around two years or so, out of her carseat. The twins had mentioned her before, this must be Silena. I called to the twins to let them know that their parents were here, and they jumped up and ran to the door. I got up as well and let the Jacksons in.
We made small talk for a couple minutes after Zoe and Luke had hugged their parents sufficiently, before Annabeth said that they should go, as they were meeting some friends at Central Park in half an hour. (A/N COVID-19 doesn't exist in this book, because a girl can dream, right?) I nodded and we made our goodbyes, before the Jackson family left. I watched them put the kids in the back, and then Percy opened the door for Annabeth to get in. Just before she went into the car, they kissed, and then Percy went around to the drivers side, and they drove away. As I returned to my papers, I thought to myself, that I hoped I could have love like that some day.
A/N Well, that was short. I apologize for the length. I do have a Valentines Special coming up for you guys on Sunday though, so that's good right? Anyways, please comment and give me feedback. I always respond to comments, and I love to hear what I can do better. Have a good day, all!
