A/N Humans! This chapter is different. Nobody meets anybody. This is a whole bunch of mini-stories in which Carson is miserable. Not all of them will make sense. Some of them will have something to do with the last two chapters. Some will just be Carson getting randomly tortured.
Scene One: Carson and Ally
It had been about a month since Aphrodite had cursed me, and I had spent that time trying not to die and working up the courage to go out in public again. I had found a small town at the edge of a forest, and decided that that would be the first place people would see me since.......... you know. After all, the curse can't be that bad, right? She's just a love goddess.
I would head into the village tomorrow, after cleaning up in the stream. I would go early in the morning and find a girl to woo with my manly good looks.
---~~---{Anjali has arrived both to meet y'all and to take you to the next day, after Carson has cleaned up in the stream and is about to head into the village}---~~---
I was slowly approaching the town creeping through the outer streets toward the plaza in the center. When I arrived there, I saw two girls playing some sort of handgame, sitting on a bench on the outskirts of the plaza. They weren't the best looking but they would do.
After checking my hair one more time, I strode toward them, clearing my throat when I got close enough. The girl on the left took one look at me an ran away with a last frantic look at her friend. The girl on the right watched her go before turning to me. She looked like she was struggling to school or features, almost as though she was disgusted. "Hi... I'm Ally.......... Can I help you?"
"Of course," I replied cockily. "I'm taking you on a date babe, just you and me."
At this point, more of the villagers had come out of their houses, and a crowd was slowly gathering. "No thank you." She glanced down the street as though wishing she'd gone with her friend. "I'm good."
I leaned closer. "C'mon babe, we both know you're not. After all, you don't have me!"
Suddenly, she slapped my face. I guess I was a little to close. "I said no, now get away from me!"
I glanced around. The townspeople, who had seemed friendly before, no longer looked so happy. I fled. The whole town watched me get humiliated. Maybe the curse meant something after all.
Scene Two: Not me
I was in an airport watching the tv in the waiting area. I didn't have money for a flight, but I didn't have anywhere else to go. On the screen was a picture of some sort of convict, who had supposedly assaulted someone or something. I wasn't paying much attention. I noticed a women in the waiting area a couple seats down from me glancing over suspiciously. After a few minutes, she stood and walked over to talk to one of the airport staff. He glanced over at me too.
The staff member went to talk to another staff, and the two, along with the suspicious women came over to me. The first staff member spoke. "Sir, are you the person on the tv who assaulted someone? You appear to look similar."
I glanced over at the photo on the screen. It looked nothing like me. Except... Aphrodite had said I would look like whoever was the least attractive to them... So maybe that's what they saw me as? Not good. At the serious faces in front of me, I panicked. "Not me! Not me, not me, not me. That is not me."
The passengers waiting for the plane were starting to draw near. Somebody shouted out from the crowd. "That's the assault guy!"
"Not me!"
And with that, I got out of there as fast as my legs could carry me.
Scene Three: Fourth Wall, Who Dat?
For some reason, I was running from an army of crazed fans holding knifes and swords.
I hate my life.
It had started after I ran from the airport. I had been stumbling along over a field of wheat when there was suddenly a great crack of lighting. No thunder followed it, and no storm clouds preceded it. The lightning split the air in front of me causing a gash to form. Out of spilled all types of people - all colours, religions, everything. They all had two things in common: they were all fangirls, fanboys, or fan non-binaries, and they were all carrying deadly weapons. Plus, they all looked like it was a good day for murder.
When they saw me, they charged.
So that was how I ended up running from an army of crazed fans holding knives and swords (not to mention the bows and arrows, the flamethrowers, the spears, the flails and the maces, the slingshots, and the boomerangs. It was a mess.
Eventually, they caught up to me. I was ripped apart by the crazy fans. I'm pretty sure I was stabbed as much as Julius Caesar - if not more. My body was riddled with arrows and wounds.
Then there was another crack of lighting, and the army was gone as quickly as they had come. I was left on the ground, slowly bleeding out.
Scene Four: UnDErWoRLd
I was dead. Or I was pretty sure I was dead. I mean, the three-headed dog, the lines of spirits, the crossing of the Styx - those are all indications of being dead, right?
I had been in the underworld for scarcely a minute when three shriveled grandmas with wings and whips swooped down and captured me. I was flown directly to where they judge spirits. To my surprise, instead of just the judges (currently Isaac Newton, Thomas Jefferson, and- was that Christopher Columbus?) Hades was also there, standing off to the side.
The three quickly judged me, and sentenced me to the fields of punishment. Then, Thomas Jefferson turned to the god standing off to the side. "As per Lord Hades' request, we are turning your punishment over to him."
Hades smiled creepily. "Now, let's see. What to do with you, Carson Prism..."
That didn't sound good.
---~~---{Anjali shall now time skip you to after Hades gave Carson his punishment}---~~---
I was pain. So. Much. Pain.
Hades had told me that punishment was as follows: Every five hours, whatever fans were available would come to torture me. In between, I would be surrounded by a crowd of beautiful girls, but instead of fawning over me, they would taunt me - and never agree to go out with me. It was horrible.
A/N Man, that was fun to write. I totally broke the fourth wall :D
