Damien's P.O.V.

The footsteps on the old stone archways echoed beneath my feet. It was good to be home, I was gone for too long. The sky welcomed me back after my long trip chasing a girl, the girl of my dreams. She was the key to everything.

I smiled as I came into view of the mansion I called home. This would soon be the center of a revolution that would change everything. Soon humans would be nothing slaves, and the dark creatures would rule the realms, with me as their leader. No one would be able to top our strength, and once the new army was unleashed, they were unstoppable.

Closing the door behind me I headed to my personal office. It was still messy as I had left it months ago. Papers were in piles scattered all over the room, while books were on and off their proper shelves.

It was good to be home and back to planning for the ultimate attack. For too long we had lived in the shadows while humans were able to enjoy the light and warmth of the sun while walking about with no worries. Soon everything would change. Humans blamed the weather changes on global warming, so called natural disasters were common, that was only the start of my plans to seek revenge on those who forced us into the shadows to starve. The worlds would be plunged into an everlasting darkness soon, and no one would be safe.

I took a seat in my chair behind my desk and leaned back putting my feet on the table. A bug crawled out from under an open book and scurried away quickly. I squished it under my shoe as it was escaping and smiled.

The window from my tower gave me a beautiful view of the sunset, and tonight's was something special. I could feel it's magik getting stronger. Soon I would be able to overcome the stubborn child and take what rightfully belongs to me.

I craved to see the day we would no longer be trapped in this wasteland I was forced to call home for so long. I had been banished here for too long, but in time I had formed an army. That army was almost complete, I just needed her powers. Ethelyn wouldn't foil my plans anymore since she had been executed and removed from the equation.

A quiet knock came from the door, "Come in." A pair of guards carrying a girl struggling against their grip brought a smile and tears to my eyes.

She amused me, oh when was the last time I saw her fighting for my life? "Let me go! Get your filthy hands off me!"

"You can let go of her now, and please give us some privacy. I would like to speak to Celeste alone." The guards closed the doors behind them leaving us in the room.

She was a mess, her hair not washed in weeks, and her clothing ripped and dirty. "My my my, I haven't see you in a long time. Take a seat while I get you something to drink."

"I'm fine standing, I spent most of my time in your filthy dungeon sitting." She wouldn't even look me in the eyes.

"Sweetheart, don't you know who I am?" I got up out of my seat and walked to her, she refused to make eye contact with me. "Hmmmmmm." I took my hand and stroked the cheek of her face.

She hissed and slapped me, "I don't know who you are, but don't touch me like that ever again!" She stepped backward creating distance between us.

"I'm Damien, don't you remember?" I ran through our connection sending her pictures until she forced me out of her mind. "What was that for sweetie?"

"You are not the Damien I remember that saved me that night." Her voice was in a low growl, "I don't know what you did with him!"

Stepping a few steps back, I smiled. "You don't see it do you? Damien never loved you for you, he loves you for your power and what you offer the darkness." I stepped back behind my desk and stood near the window, "Didn't your father tell you to not play with demons?" I had a smirk on my face.

"You filthy, stupid, fucking liar!" She rattled off every mean curse word in her mind while I stood there amused by her attempt which had no effect on me.

"While I have you here, I should bring in another person you might wanna see." Through the doors with a snap of my fingers Alric was dragged in by two guards. "Say hi to your daughter for the last time before her wedding. The last time you'll see her is when she walks down the aisle."

"Dad!" She ran over to his weak body and hugged him. "What did you do to him!" She hissed in my direction.

"He's spent his time in the dungeons also, just another part away from yours." I played with a pen from my desk in my fingers. "I've been taking care of him don't worry."

"Don't worry about me, save yourself." Was all he could say with breaths in-between each word. "I don't want to lose you like your mother."

Their reunion has brought tears to my eyes, but I ended it early. "Visiting time is over I'm afraid, bring Mr. Varner back to his cell." I eyed Celeste standing there alone, "And bring her to the bride's room and have her cleaned up. We shouldn't have her looking like a mess on her big day."

She glared in my direction, "I will never get married in the Shadowlands." The guards dragged her away before she could say anything else.

Everything was falling into place. The next full moon the wedding would happen, and their fates would be sealed. I would finally have my power I was promised and waited thousands of years for. It all tasted so sweet as I left the office and went down the hallway.

---------------------------------------------

Oh my gosh! It's coming to the part I'm most excited! But it's Valentine's Day and this isn't what you expected huh?

So Damien means Demon, if you didn't know that now you know. And the story plot was loosely based off a series I tried to make for a game I played but I never finished it. The series was Immortal Soul if anyone has seen it, chances are you never even heard of it.

But it's coming to an end soon. The first book anyways, I am planning a sequel. Any questions about plot so far just ask me since I do jump around a lot and need to go back and edit. But thanks for being a reader and helping me out. I've never stuck to a project for this long before abandoning so to have a full novel done surprises me. I hope to keep writing novels and stories on Wattpad and I hope you like them. Thanks guys!
