Blurry eyed, I opened my eyes to reveal a beautiful waterfall. Something was wrong, a dark fog was rolling in and I could barely see through it. For the first time, I felt scared and alone in this unknown world.

"Hello? Are you there?" I walked to the edge of the water to a shocking surprise, the water had become impure and corrupted, it was no longer a light crystal blueish purple but now a black pool. The water was now a hot temperature instead of cold and refreshing like it used to be. "This is wrong."

Silence rippled through the waterfall and the forests, an unnerving silence.

Running foot steps came to the shore, "My child." She seemed surprised to see me here, "How did you get here- Wait nevermind, Its not safe for you."

Looking around, the atmosphere seemed off and the air was warm, "What's going on?"

"There isn't much time to explain I'm afraid." She had a weak smile.

My heart felt heavy at the news she was about to deliver.

"Damien's influence is spreading fast, I can't keep up with it." Her expression was grim, "They keep wandering into the realm."

Damien. He was stirring up trouble while I was trapped in my room. "What has he done-"

"There is not time to talk now, you have to go." She seemed in a panic and a hurry, "Flee this realm while you still can."

"What's comin-" I was cut off as a pack of wolves with black fur came out of the woods. Their eyes were black and soulless, I felt them piercing my soul. My voice was shaking, "What are those?"

"Wolves, corrupted wolves." She fell silent as the walked closer to us, "The darkness is spreading through out the realms corrupting the creatures turning them against us."

"What do we do?" I hid behind her.

She turned around to look into my eyes, "You do nothing. Survive, and find Mystic, she needs your help. She can heal your wounds and fill you in when its time."

A howl ripped through the sky and fast paws hitting the ground running towards us, I took off running away from the wolves. At first I had kept a distance but that distance quickly closed. They could run faster than I ever could.

When it seemed I was doomed, I turned around to face a familiar pair of eyes. They were full of sadness and pain, I could hear the whimpering from the inside. But the shadowy furred beast kept walking to me. Wulfric had been corrupted, that's what she meant.

"Stop." He looked at me confused for a moment but the hunt took over again. "Ethelyn wouldn't have wanted you to do this." A single tear fell down his right furry cheek.

Without a warning he jumped me and I stumbled and lost my balance. My back was on the ground in a vulnerable position. In no time he was on top of me, "You should of ran when you could of, you've made a terrible mistake."

I had a lump in my throat, "You could never hurt me." I challenge the spell placed on him, I could see the suffering in his eyes.

"You don't know what I'm capable of, Celeste." He seemed to be fighting the spell now and losing against it.

I closed my eyes preparing myself for death, I was going to die here and now. "Make it fast and painless then." A pain exploded from my shoulder and I grasped it as a fire tore through my arm.

Suddenly the weight was lifted, but the pain was still there. I heard growls and a tree fall. I focused on the pain, but it was growing worse each minute that passed.

Wulfric came limping over and sat down next to me on a ground, he whispered, "I promised Ethelyn I would protect you, and I haven't broken my promise yet. And I won't break it." He nudged my hand with his nose.

"You're a good wolf you know," my eye lids became heavy and closed.

The darkness settled in shortly after. I could taste my blood in my mouth. I don't remember much after everything went dark, but I heard yelps and fighting in between the wolves.
