The memory of the day I was reborn into the world came to view, the scene vivid as it was the day it all changed.

I was standing on the side walk this time watching the traffic snake on. I knew where the car was right now, and I knew I didn't have much time. I rushed to beat the two cars to the scene of the accident. There was one thing I needed to know for sure.

The scene felt so real again and running past Marissa's face made me miss her. Ever since she died, I hid those feelings in the darkness of my heart but now there was nowhere to hide them. The reality was she's gone and I can't change anything. Marissa...

I had come here for something, and I wouldn't leave without it. Standing by the traffic lights, I started to feel someone watching me. A black car passed me and I knew who the driver was without looking through the window. He was the one that changed everything.

The scene of the accident was still clear as day. The car was no where to be seen yet. Then the sound of brakes and metal colliding made me cringe.

I ran away from the bodies like a child. I couldn't change anything now. I sat there in an empty ally and cried. I cried for my life lost. I cried for Marissa. I just cried for what felt like many empty hours until I couldn't cry anymore and my eyes were dry.

I stood up and kicked a can, the can scared a cat away after it hissed violently at me before crawling back into the shadows again. Stupid cat.

A darkness tugged at the strings of my heart. A shadow so strong that even I couldn't control it any longer. The shadow called for revenge.

The smell of death lingered, a smell too familiar. A shadow barely escaping. A life lost. Marissa. Dead. And worst of all, I knew who had killed her. I swore I would avenge her.
