Chapter 7: He Was A Punk, She Did Ballet

JACKY'S POV

After Tori left, I stormed into the living room, pissed off. After about 30 minutes I remembered the picture. I walked into the entryway and picked it up. I looked at it and it deffinatley was Serenity kissing another man. I sighed and just stared at it. After looking at it for the longest time, I started to think it was from a while ago, before her and I. I then saw Ron and Haley in the corner of the picture. Yep, recent.

I pulled out my phone and called Ron, staring at the picture.

"Hello?" Ron answered.

"Hey Ron, I want you to tell me the complete and total truth, alright?"

"Oh hey Jacky, alright."

"Is-is Serenity ch-cheating on m-me?" I asked, waiting for the dreaded answer to come through the phone. I heard Ron sigh which only made me more tense.

"Yes." He said like it was the hardest word in the English languge.

Yes. That word went into my ear, circled around my brain and then shot down my body, making me take a sharp breath in as it passed my throat and went straight to my stoumach. It climbed into my stoumach and started tumbling and twirling before going up to my heart and wrapping itself around it. It squeezed and squeezed and squeezed until it finnaly just, dissapeared.

Yes. It was like a ghostly echo that no one ever wants to hear. I held back all the tears as Ron continued to speak.

"I'm sorry Jacky. We saw that you really loved her and she was the first girl in a long time and we just didnnt want you to get hurt."

"AND YOU DIDN'T SEE THAT I LOVED VICTORIA! YOU COULD'VE TOLD ME ABOUT SERENITY BEFORE I FUCKED THINGS UP WITH TORI!" I screamed, just blowing up.

"Dude, I'm sorry! Tori will be fi-"

"No! I was super rude to her today and was a total asshole, all because I believe Serenity." I flopped back down on the couch and let the tears escape.

"Ugh, I'm sorry Jacky. Things will turn out for the better, I promise. I gotta go, bye."

"Bye." I hung up the phone and threw it at the ground. I ran my fingers through my hair and pulled. I looked at the picture once more and that word entered my brain.

Cheating.

That word entered my body way more violently then 'yes' did. It went straight to my heart, tugging and pulling and squeezing it. I dropped to my knees from the pain and clutched my chest. Tears filled up my eyes as it got harder to breathe. As soon as I thought I had enough, it stopped. The pain left and I was able to stand again.

I sat on the couch for an hour, thinking about what to do when Serenity comes back. Should I blow up? Be calm? Cry? 

I was in the middle of thinking when the door opened.

"Hey!" Her voice called from the entryway. I picked up the picture and paced a little before sitting back down. "I said hi!" She said as she entered the entry room. "Jacky boo, what's wrong?" She asked, coming closer to me.

"Don't. Call me that." I growled.

"Jacky, what's wrong?" She asked, concern in her voice. Yeah right.

"Care to explain this?" I asked shoving the picture in her face. She took it from me and looked at it.

"I-I don't know what this is."
