"Going to a life, A brand new life.
Gonna try a life that won't be broken.
Going to a life that feels good inside.
Going to the night that's never over."

Summer had come around to the little town of Hawkins, Indiana.
Lana could constantly feel her anxiety threatening to send her over the edge.

She had gotten a job at the Hawkins community pool right beside her boyfriend, Billy Hargrove.

Steve Harrington had gotten a job at a Ice Cream parlor in the newly opened Starcourt Mall called Scoops Ahoy.
He practically lived there, considering he was always working his ass off and saving money to get away from Hawkins as soon as possible.
At least in his mind that's what he told himself.
Lana visited Steve regularly, after all, he gave her free ice cream.

Nancy and Jonathan were working for The Hawkins Post.
They weren't around as much.
They were constantly working and trying to find a new interesting story to find.
They both made sure to stop by and check in with Lana when they could though.

Gavin was still up to his same thing.
Selling drugs, and getting high off the supply.
But he made more than enough to get by.

Joyce Byers and Jim Hopper had pretty much adopted Lana Woods as their own, being that she was living in a huge house all to herself

Joyce Byers and Jim Hopper had pretty much adopted Lana Woods as their own, being that she was living in a huge house all to herself.
They would check in on her regularly.
Jim still hadn't had the heart to tell Lana about her parents leaving her.
Joyce knew though.
And it broke her heart just as much as it did Jim's.
Every time He planned to tell Lana, his heart broke all over again at the thought of adding anymore pain to her.
She had been through enough.

Jim now allowed Jane to stay over at Lana's house when permitted and they would have a girls night and Max would stay over as well.
She had grown extremely close to the girls.
She even took Jane and Max out to the Jcpenny in the Starcourt Mall to get new outfits and go shopping sometimes.
They went on adventures when Jim would allow it.

But Lana knew there was some sort of evil out there, but she couldn't place it.
She couldn't figure out what it was, where it was coming from, just that it was out there lingering around and waiting.

Waiting for her.

Summer of '85 would be a summer Lana would NEVER forget.
