013: Strange Attraction

"It's building for you Lana."

Gavin had called to make sure Lana made it home safe from the bar.
Anthony was a man of his word and had left Him a message on his answering machine saying he had taken Lana home and watched her walk back into her home.

She had taken a few aspirins for her hangover and was smoking a joint when she heard a knock on her front door.
Lana didn't think about it and walked to the door, joint in hand, opening it and saw Jim Hopper on her doorstep.
He glanced down at the joint in her hand.

"I'm going to pretend I didn't see that." He muttered to her, walking into the house.
She took a quick puff, closing the front door and going to put the joint out.

"Find anything?"
She asked him, immediately interested.
Jim sighed.

"Nothing, but.."
He paused.

"We did find this black residue, almost like a mold of some sort like we had found on the pumpkins."
Jim finished and Lana sighed.

"It definitely has upside down written all over it."
She answered and He plopped down on the couch.

"Without a doubt."

"But that doesn't tell me anything."
Lana said groaning.

"I'm sorry kid."
He replied softly

"I need to know what it's planning Hop. I need Jane's help. I know you hate it but I need her to help me out. I need everyone's help with this. I need your help. We don't know how strong this thing is, we don't know what what will happen if we fail."
Lana responded, starting to pace the room.
He could see how upset she was.

"I'm trying everything I can kiddo. Jane is already trying to find clues. She thinks it's hiding from her. She doesn't know why, but she thinks there's a reason why it's only showing only you this."
Jim answered softly and She stared over at him.

"I don't get it."

"It's building for you Lana. Somehow this thing, the kids think it's the Mindflayer. If you and Will are seeing the same thing, You are the key to the success of what the thing plans to do."
Jim stated.
