Gavin and Lana had been friends since they were Nine years old.
She remembered the first time He had approached her on the playground.
He had picked her a random dandelion from the grass and held it out for Lana.
She smiled widely at him and took it, and they ran off to play on the Jungle Gym.
Gavin and Lana would always try to see who could go the highest on the swings.
They had gone to every Winter dance together up until High School.

They lost their virginity to each other both at the age of fifteen.
They were always told it should be with someone who was special, that you'd always remember your first.
Lana and Gavin were absolutely fine with those circumstances.

Gavin had beaten up more than plenty of boys to protect Lana, whether they had disrespected her, or simply said something out of line.
He was always there to protect Her.
She did the same for Him, even though they both could hold their own, they protected what they loved, and that was each other.
Both their parents were barely around and they understood a familiar trauma and loneliness from that, and became best friends from that day with the Dandelion.

Now, Lana had lost her best friend, one of her other halves

Now, Lana had lost her best friend, one of her other halves.
The guilt and remorse she carried was more than any person to bear.

She immediately started to daily take her "Little blue pills."
Marijuana was a common occasion, and now a quick slip of cocaine wasn't that bad for the grief either.
Anything to dull the Pain, to relieve the weight of the world Lana carried on her shoulders.

Lana knew Gavin was never coming back.
That's what killed her inside the most. She knew she'd never hear him laugh again, give her those tight and warm embraces, his witty insight and advice.
Lana felt truly lost without Gavin.
