008: Sad Girl

The shame Lana felt was unbearable for any person.
She repeatedly slammed her hands down on her steering wheel while tears streamed down her face.

How could Lana do that to Billy?
She loves him with all her heart so how could she hurt him like that?
How could She be so selfish?
She felt sick to her stomach.
Lana hated herself.

She didn't even bother going home.
There was no way she could face Billy after what had happened.
She immediately drove to Joyce's house.
It was nearly 9:30pm when She pulled into the Byers residence.

Joyce glanced out the window and saw Lana getting out of her car and hurried to the front door.
She immediately noticed Her crying.
Will was over at Mike Wheelers, and Jonathan was still with Nancy Wheeler down at The Hawkins post doing work on their latest story.

"Honey, what is wrong? Get in here."
Joyce said immediately

Lana followed Her into the house.

"I fucked up Joyce."
Lana muttered, wiping her eyes, looking at her.
Joyce immediately started the coffee maker.
Lana was seated in the dining room area at the table and Joyce sat down.

"Tell me what's going on."
Joyce said softly

"I had these stupid night classes at work, with this boy...."
Lana started, sniffing a bit.
Joyce already knew what was about to be said.

"He kissed me. Well... I didn't exactly pull away."

"Your human Lana. Your only Eighteen baby."

"I'm a shitty person is what I am."

"Don't you dare say that Lana. You are an amazing and beautiful, kind, loving woman. You are NOT shitty."
Joyce said sternly to Lana.
She glanced over at Joyce.
Joyce started to grab a cigarette and light it then held her pack out offering Lana one and she accepted.

"Billy is going to be so angry. He's going to leave me."
She said quietly as more tears fell.
She took a puff and shakily exhaled.
Joyce felt Lana's sadness envelope her.
She felt so terrible for Her.
