The bell rang as I entered the school, I started at the third period but I was a bit late. I quickly ran towards the classroom and sat down next to Ashley just in time. "There you are. Why are you so late?" She asked. "I was trying to figure out how to sent Dylan a message at twitter, but I can't seem to find out how." I whispered to her as Mr. Cowell walked in. "I'll help you after school." She quickly said and the lesson started.
"Why do you want to sent him a message? You can just tweet him." Ashley said as we walked towards her locker. "I know, but I want to thank him for that night. I don't think he'd appreciate if I tweeted that to him." I said to her. "Yeah, you're probably right. What would you want to say to him?" She asked me. "Haven't really thought about that, just thanking him for waiting with me until my mum arrived. It meant a lot to me, he didn't have to." I said as we arrived to her locker. Before she could respond we heard another voice shout at us. "Hey Jamesetta! How is your boyfriend?" It was Dave. My blood started to boil. "How freaking dare you!" I screamed. I rushed towards him and grabbed his collar, pushing him against the locker. He was shocked by my reaction. Don't really know why, because well, I warned him plus he freaking asked me how my boyfriend was! Is he out of his freaking mind. "Wh-a-at?" He asked, clearly not realizing what he just asked. Idiot. "Are you really that stupid?" I growled to him. "No, I was talking about the guy you met this weekend, Dylan O'Brien." He managed to get out. I looked confused at him. "What are you talking about?" I loosened my grip a bit. He went for his pocket and got out his phone. "Here." He handed me his phone. There was an article with the headline: "Who is the mysterious girl Dylan O'Brien was with last night?" I clicked on it and saw a picture with me and Dylan. The picture was a blurry, but I recognized the ally and apparently Dave recognized me. I let go of him and kept scrolling through the page. 'On Saturday night Dylan O'Brien was spot with a mysterious girl. Who is she?' The first line on the article read. After a few lines there were more pictures of us talking. Also, the one where my mum joined us and we gave each other a hug. I glared over to Dave who looked still a bit scared.
I gave it back to him and without saying anything I walked back towards Ashley. "What was he talking about?" She said. I opened my own phone and searched: 'Dylan O'Brien Saturday July 23th' There were a couple of articles about that night. "By boyfriend he was referring to Dylan." I said to her, still looking at my phone. "What?" She gasped. I clicked on the article Dave showed me. "Here." I gave her my phone and she read through the article. I looked back over to Dave, who was still looking over to us. I glared at him and he stopped looking our way. "Is this really you?" Ashley asked when she saw the picture. I nodded. "I think so, it looks like the clothing I was wearing. Plus I recognize the ally." I said to her. "Tjeez J." Ashley said, handing me back my phone. "Yeah I know." I said to her, leaning my back against the lockers. "Hey guys." Nora and Thomas walked towards us. "What's going on?" Thomas asked when he saw the look on our faces. I handed him my phone and they both read it. "Who's this?" Thomas asks. "It looks like Dylan O'Brien." I said to him. "So?" He asked confused. "The girl sitting next to him, that's Jaimy." Ashley said, making it sound obvious. "What?" Nora asked. "Remember he waited with me from my mum? He sat down next to me, I guess he was being followed." I said, slightly freaking out. The paparazzi aren't dumb. What if they followed me for some reason? Am I being to paranoid? "What are you thinking about J?" Ash asked when she saw my face. "Is it possible that they followed us? You know, I am the mysterious girl on the picture." "Well, you're not that mysterious, Dave recognized you." Ashley pointed out. "Yeah, people who know how I look like know that that's me, but I'm not famous or anything. Nobody knows about me." I panicked. "Okay calm down." Nora laid her hand on my shoulder. "We don't know anything. We'll go back home with you after school and tell your mum about it. She'll know what to do." She suggested. Ashley and Thomas both agreed. "Okay, that sounds like a good idea."
Surprisingly the day went by quickly and we waited for Nate by the car. "Took you long enough." I said when he walked towards us. "What's with the welcome committee?" He asked when he saw the rest of us. "They are coming home with us. Couldn't let them walk now could I?" I said. He walked towards the passenger side but I stopped him. "You're in the back." I said as I opened the back door for him. He groaned but got in without an other word. The whole ride Nate kept talking about his day at school. How this kid puked all over the floor because apparently he told the teacher he was sick, but he didn't believe him. It was funny hearing Nate go on and on about it. After the story he kept making jokes, his laughter at his own jokes were funnier than the jokes themselves but hey, I wasn't going to burst his bubble.
"We're home!" I called out when I opened the door. "In the kitchen!" Mum shouted from the kitchen.
"Well hello." She said to Nora, Ashley and Thomas as she saw them. "Hello Mrs. Jennings." The three of them said. "Jamesetta, I would like to talk with you in private." She said, looking at me. "Is it about the articles?" I asked her. She looked confused. "Yeah, you saw them?" I nodded. "Yeah, a kid from school asked me how my boyfriend was. After getting really mad at him because I thought he meant Jayden, he showed me the article. I showed them afterwards." I explained to her. "Nate, go do your homework in your room." Mum said to him. "No arguing." She said sternly as Nate opened his mouth. "Fine." He mumbled and went upstairs.
Okay, let me explain what my mum does. Before she and my dad got married she worked at a casting agency. She was part of the crew that picked out the cast for a movie of tv show, that's how she has connections. She met my dad at the job. He was an actor, after they got me mum quit her job to take care of me. When I was about 2 years old, the agency she used to work for contacted her again, begging her to come back. Half a year after she gave birth to Nate our dad died in a accident on set. She worked things out with the agency and she got an opportunity to work at home, on one condition, she needs to show up at the agency twice a month. That's how she could arrange the tickets to comic con on such a short notice.
"Andrew called me-" "The guy who helped me with my homework when you needed to bring us with you?" I interrupted her. "Yes, him. He asked me if I saw the article-" "The article about me and Dylan?" I interrupted her again. She groaned. "Stop interrupting me." She said sternly. "Sorry, I'm just so nervous." I apologized. "Anyway, as I was saying. Andrew called me. I read the article and recognized you in the pictures. He told me that he would talk to Dylan's agent of how to handle this." She stopped for a few seconds. "No interruption?" She asked me. "No. Again, nervous." "He called me back a few minutes ago. He wanted to leave it, he asked me not to pay any attention to it. It's news for a few days, but when they don't see you together anymore they'll drop it. So what I want you to do is, don't send Dylan any tweets for a week or three. Don't like or retweet his tweets, don't talk about him on Facebook. Remove the picture of the name card you posted." She said to me. "What?" I asked her in disbelief. "Do it." She said sternly. I looked over to my friends for help. I was so excited about all the things that happened with Dylan on comic con and now I can't even talk about it? They looked helpless, not daring to interfere with my mum. I sighed. "Fine." I took my phone out of my pocket and went to twitter and Facebook and deleted all the posts and pictures, like it never happened. "I'm sorry Jaimy, but we don't want any rumors." "I understand." I said to her. "I gave your number to Dylan's agent. Just in case he wants to check up on you, making sure you're keeping your part of the deal."
"Why are they making such a big deal of this?" Thomas said as we walked into my bedroom. "I absolutely have no clue." I sighed as I sat down on the couch I had in my room. "Does Dylan have a girlfriend?" Nora asked me and I shook my head. "No, not that I know of." I said and she chuckled. "Yeah, cause you would know, Dylan Wikipedia." She chuckled again at her own joke and I threw a pillow at her. "Says the vampire diaries expert." I shot back at her and she simply shrugged. "And I'm proud of it." This time we all started to laugh. "But for real tho, why?" Nora really started to think about it. "Could they really have followed you?" Nora wondered.
Little did I know that they actually were....
A/N: I'm sorry for the short chapter. I realized it as I was publicing it.
