Off freaking course someone decided it was a good timing to walk into the bathroom at that same moment. We quickly stepped away from each other and I felt my cheeks heat up. Dylan scratched the back of his neck and cleared this throat. "I'm heading back. Uhm.. yeah." He said awkwardly and walked out of the bathroom. I groaned as I mentally facepalmed myself. Great.. I almost kissed him! I almost kissed Dylan O'Brien!
"Jaimy? You okay?" Holland asked. Oh, terrific. It was Holland who had walked in on us.
"Yeah, I'm good." I flashed her a fake smile.
"You're not Colton's girlfriend are you?" Holland suddenly asked and I froze.
"I- uhm.. Yea- No- I mean-" Is all that come from my mouth. I didn't know what to say.
"It's fine. I already had a feeling something was up." I looked surprised at her. "I don't know if you know this, but I'm really close with Colton." Holland said.
"Yeah, I noticed. Some thought the two of you were dating right?" I said to her and she nodded.
"Yeah. I had a feeling he was gay, but I never thought about asking him about it because I didn't really care if he was. I knew he would tell me when he was ready. So when he told me he had to be somewhere a few months ago without being specific, I was already getting suspicious. And then suddenly you were his girlfriend, he never mentioned you before and it was just weird." She explained. I didn't really know what to say. "You don't have to say anything." She chuckled. "What's the deal between you and Dylan though?" I hesitated for a moment.
"Can I trust you?" I asked her, avoiding her eyes.
"Off course you can." Holland said with a calm voice.
So I started to tell her everything, from the time Dylan and I talked in the alley, the talks on the phone, the meeting when we signed the contract, the 'dates' Colton and I went to. I felt a weight being dropped from my shoulders. I know I told my friends about it but it wasn't the same. Holland knows how this world is, the nasty paparazzi, the unwanted attention. She is so supportive, it's amazing.
By the time I was done talking she pulled me into a hug. "It was nice from you to do this for Colton. I know it isn't the full reason you did it but still. Even though the two of you aren't really together he's been happier. Maybe because he doesn't have to hide his secret from you." Holland said as she pulled back.
"He isn't allowed to tell anyone he's gay. Only Dylan knows because he is a part of the whole thing."
"I know. Let's go back yeah? They must've wondering where we are." I nodded.
"Yeah."
When we walked back into the crowd we found Colton back at the table. I sat down next to Colton, who wrapped his arm around me. "You okay?" He asked and I nodded.
"Yeah and uhm- Holland knows." I whispered back. His eyes widened and looked into her direction. She caught his gaze and flashed him a reassuring smile. I felt him breath out heavy, clearly being relieved by her reaction. He tightened he grip around me and a big smile was formed on his face.
"I'm gonna find the rest yeah?" Holland shouted after she knew Colton was fine.
"Sure." He replied with still the biggest smile on his face. "How does she know?" Colton asked me when Holland was out of sight.
"Well, uhm, she walked in on me and Dylan almost kissing." I blushed madly thinking back about it. "So, that's when it all made sense to her. You should really talk to her about this after the party."
