I can't lose you again

Chapter 11

Y/N POV

I have been walking for 2 days now, my vision is becoming blurry from lack of food and water.  I reached in my bag only to find my water bottle empty.
"Fuck" I said quietly as my mouth is dry. I tried to walk but my legs couldn't move anymore. I fell to me knees looking up at the sky. I look down and saw a few blurry figures running towards me. They fell next me and I felt one of them check my plus.
"Check for bit marks" a voice said. I looked to my side and saw the figure shake it's head.
"Good, can you stand?" I shook my head.
"Ok we're going to pick you up is that ok" I found the strength and with a groggy voice I blurted out.
"Yeah" my voice cracking. I felt them pick me up. I was still aware of my surrounding but I couldn't move. They brought me to what looked like an abandoned mall. Only it wasn't abandoned because they were people inside.
"Crystal!" The voice shouted.
"Yeah what's- oh my" she cut herself off as she looked at me. "Quick over here" they rushed me to a room and sat me down on what seemed to be a mattress. She looked at me. "Can we get some water in here" I tried to sit up but it was no use. She pushed me back down gently and told me that I need to rest. I nodded weakly. A few moments later a guy came in with a cup of water. "Here drink this" Crystal said as she helped me up and I drank it. A sigh leaving my lips as I drank it. "How long was you out there for" she asked kindly.
"A few days give or take" I said and took another gulp of water.
"Jesus, it's hot out there am i right" she said smiling. I smiled back. Then the guy came in with some food. Beans. "Here eat this" I could sit up by my self now. She handed me a spoon and the can of warm baked beans. I was practically drooling as I ate them. Crystal watched me patiently. She motioned with her finger for the guy to get more water. He left and returned not a moment later. He handed me another cup as I finished my beans. I held the it to my lips and took 2 big gulps.
"Thank you" I said sending them both a smile.
"If you don't mind me asking, what is this place?" I asked politely.
"This is our home. When the sun scorched the world me and a few others found this place and made it into a sort of refuge. We go out and look for people who need our help and we bring them here" I smiled as it seems to be so unreal. "I assume that you escaped from W.C.K.D?" She asked.  My eyes widening.
"Yeah, I did." I smiled and looked away.
"Its ok, we will protect you. In fact there are a few other people here just like you. We saw them wondering around the scorch alone and we brought them in just like you" I smiled as she made me feel safe. "We understand if you don't want to stay here, but if you do I'm sure you will fit right in. I'll give you sometime to rest" she stood up and left the room. I smiled as she left as a thank you. I placed the cup next to as I laid down on the mattress. I sighed as it was so much more comfy able than my bed back in the Glade. I closed my eyes and I fell asleep.

I woke up the next morning, I stood up and found a pair of grey ripped jeans, a white top, a black zip up jacket with a new pair of black combat boots and clean underwear. I smiled as I took the clean clothes and I got changed. I opened my door and stepped out stretching. I inhaled though my nose and smelt something delicious. I followed the delicious smell and then I saw Crystal, my eyes met hers and she motioned for me to come and sit with her on the couch. I walked over to her and she looks me up and down.
"I knew they would look good in you" I smiled at her as I sat down. "Here have some" she pushed a plate with what seemed to me bacon but I didn't care anyways as I took a few pieces and ate them.
"Thank you" I said as I laid back against the soft cushions.
"So" she started. "Have you made up your mind?" She asked raising a brow.
"Yeah I would like to stay if that's alright" I saw a smile appear on her lips.
"Perfect" I smiled at her.

And that's what happened after I escaped the maze, I got taken in by Crystal and her crew. They treated me like family and they even let me keep my gun since I got a job as a security. I would sit out and watch to see if any cranks would come and if they did I would shoot them. They also gave me a sniper rifle with a silencer so when I'm on watch duty at night I won't wake anyone. It was amazing. I met loads of lovely people and I became best friends with someone called Abigail. She was tall around 5,6 and was skinny with beautiful curves. She had dark blue hair because she dyed it, her eyes were hazel and she had a nose piercing. Abi was the nickname I gave her, she was around my age and she escaped from W.C.K.D too. We both had the same shifts so it was great, we both found matching lockets and a polaroid camera. We decided to take a photo together and cut it out and put them in the lockets. I would tell everyone stories about the Glade and everyone there, Abi would always tease me about Newt. I told her all about him, by that I mean every single detail. But sometimes at night I would have nightmares about what happens with the greenie. I would wake up screaming and drenched in sweat. But Abi was always there for me. That's when the nightmares stopped. She also went though something similar to me so we would both comfort each other when we need to be. We became so close so quickly that time flew by so fast.
