After that incident at Whismur Cave and Devon Corp, our heroes are relaxing in the pokemon center before they head to Slateport.
Well, May was relaxing, Brock was cooking lunch and Max was watching Ash train with his pokemon.
May's Wurmple wanders off, meeting another Wurmple, who happened to belong to Jessie.
May and Jessie went to the two Wurmple and glares, grabbing a Wurmple each, and walks off. But they grabbed the wrong Wurmple.
Ash picks that up quickly thanks to his ability to communicate to pokemon and quickly explains it.
May was shocked, Jessie has her Wurmple! The gang runs off, bumping into Team Rocket and the Wurmple reunites with their trainers.
"Oh Wurmple, I'm so sorry!" May apologizes, hugging her Wurmple, as Jessie did the same, but the Wurmple started to glow and evolve.
May's Wurmple had evolved into a Silcoon, while Jessie's has become a Cascoon. But Jessie thinks her Cascoon is a Silcoon.
Ash was clearly annoyed with Jessie not knowing about Wurmple's evolution line, but it seems James and Meowth sees the differences between the two cocoon pokemon.
Ash explains it to Jessie, but does she listen? Nope. The evil gang runs off, Ash sighs.
Ash sees a brochure on the Pokemon Battle Frontier and grabs it, reading it through.
The first frontier brain is in Slateport City and Ash turns to the gang.
"The day before the contest, I'll be challenging the frontier brain."
The gang nods and agrees to cheer him on and they head on the boat to said city.
About three quarters way through, they need a pitstop to refuel, so they pull in a nearby forest and explore, seeing Professor Birch with some pokemon like Lotad and Seedot.
Ash notices the trees are dry, knowing most Seedot get hydrated from the tree's water.
Ash takes the gang, the Seedot and the Lotad to a different area with hydrated trees and a large pond nearby.
The grass type pokemon were happy and a shiny Lotad and shiny Seedot joins Ash and another Seedot joins Max. Ash scans his new friends.
[Seedot, the Acorn Pokemon.
Seedot attaches itself to a tree branch using the top of its head. It sucks moisture from the tree while hanging off the branch. The more water it drinks, the glossier this Pokémon's body becomes. This Seedot is level 15 with the ability Chlorophyll, Male, and knows the moves Tackle, Harden, Astonish, Growth, Worry Seed*Egg Move*, Rollout*Egg Move*, Leech Seed*Egg Move*, Quick Attack*Egg Move*, Night Slash*Egg Move*, and Mega Drain*Egg Move*]
[Lotad, the Water Weed Pokemon.
This Pokémon lives in ponds with clean water. It is known to ferry small Pokémon across ponds by carrying them on the broad leaf on its head.
This Lotad is level 15 with the ability Own Tempo, Male, and knows the moves Astonish, Growl, Water Gun, Mist, Mega Drain, Leech Seed*Egg Move*, Counter*Egg Move*, Sweet Scent*Egg Move*, Synthesis*Egg Move*, Teeter Dance*Egg Move*, and Razor Leaf*Egg Move*]
Max's Seedot had the Chlorophyll ability and has the moves Tackle, Harden, Leech Seed*Egg Move*, and Quick Attack*Egg Move*.
Ash was with his new and other pokemon, but Team Rocket comes back, Silcoon and Cascoon battle and both of them evolve.
May's Silcoon became Beautifly and Jessie's Cascoon became Dustox, the latter shocked to find out her Silcoon was actually a Cascoon!
Ash explains the lack of bangs over it's eyes and it purplish color. But Jessie was happy with her Dustox, saying it was better than Beautifly.
May scans her Beautifly and sees it has the moves Tackle, Gust, String Shot, Silver Wind, and Morning Sun while Jessie's Dustox has Poison Sting, Gust, Tackle, and Psybeam.
While the others were happy Jessie wasnt complaining about Dustox, she and Team Rocket were easily going, blasting off again thanks to Pikachu and May's Beautifly.
Luckily, everyone was safe and our heroes head to Slateport for Ash's additional goal of the Battle Frontier and May's pokemon contest.
As the journey continues.
