After that eventful day at Maisie Island, our heroes are resting in the pokemon center the same night.

Nurse Joy went to Ash and says "Ash? You have a visitor."
Ash was curious and follows the nurse, as does May, Max, and Brock.

In the waiting room was a little girl, around Max's age, though maybe younger. She had golden blond hair, a hair blue ribbon, a white and blue dress, blue eyes, and is has a Mareep, Teddiursa, and Phanpy with her, all shiny.

Ash was shocked, but the little girl runs to Ash and hugs him, the boy hugging back.

"Molly, I cant believe you're here! Where's Uncle Spencer? How did you get here?" Ash asked, Molly giggles and answers with "Papa is working with Professor Birch and he said you were in Hoenn!"

Ash sighs in relief, seeing that Molly is alright. "I'm so happy you're alright."
Molly giggles at that.

"My pokemon are strong, so I can handle anything at all! I wanted to travel with you ever since you won the Silver Conference and Johto's Elite Four!"

Ash nods and says "I dont mind. Let me introduce you to my friends."
May, Max, and Brock were puzzled.

Ash turns to them and says "Guys, this is my little cousin, Molly Hale. Molly, this is May, Max, and Brock."

They all greeted Molly politely.
"Nice to meet you all!"
May sees the pokemon with her and smiles.

"Are those your pokemon? They're so cute!"
Molly smiles and says "Yep! Ash got them for me when he was in Johto! I also have other pokemon Papa's friend got me."

Brock remembered before the Silver Conference, Ash had went to the forest for a while and sent some pokeballs to someone that wasnt Professor Oak or Professor Elm.

"That explains why all of your pokemon are shiny!" Max exclaimed.

Molly giggles and Ash explains "Actually, they were already shiny when I got them. Molly has the same type of aura that makes pokemon shiny, but she cant use pokemon moves."

Molly nods and says "Yep! But that's okay. We're all different in our own ways!"

Ash smiled and pets Molly.
"Well, the more the merrier." Brock says, nodding.

Molly looks at Ash and says "There's an unofficial gym leader at the beach near Granite Cave that has the same prize as that AJ guy gave you. I won!"

Ash smiles wider and hugs her. "That's great."
May seemed puzzled.
Ash then explains the time he won against an unofficial gym leader and gained the privilege of not having a limit on carrying pokemon.

May and Max looked excited.
Brock nods and says "Before the gym and frontier brain, we should check it out." Ash nods at that, not objecting.

They all head to Granite Cave, seeing a middle age man with a Sealeo and two Spheal, both shiny.

"Oh, hello Molly. Are these the people you mentioned?"

"Yep! This is my cousin Ash and his friends Brock, May, and Max! Guys, this is Captain Stern." Molly says.

They all greet each other politely.
"So, I'm assuming one of you wants to battle me?"

Brock steps forward and says "I'd like to go first."
Captain Stern nods and they get ready to battle.

Stern has Sealeo on the field and Brock sends out Rhydon, who he brought back.

Sealeo gulps, but gets ready.

"That's not good. Rhydon is a Rock and ground type pokemon. They're both weak to water type moves." Max says.

Ash nods and says "That's true, but Sealeo is an ice type and ice types are weak to rock type moves. Not to mention Rhydon can learn other moves to cover it's weaknesses."

Sealeo went for an Aurora Beam, but Rhydon blocks it with a Thunderbolt, which hits Sealeo hard.

Sealeo shakes it off and goes for Body Slam, but Rhydon counters with a powerful Rock Slide, which knocks out Sealeo.

Stern smiled and returned Sealeo to it's pokeball. "A loss is a loss. You earned the privilege. Do you have a pokedex with you?"

Brock pulls out a Hoenn Pokedex, May looks shocked.
"I didnt see Professor Birch give you a pokedex!"

Brock chuckled and explains with "While you guys were watching the the lab's pokemon and Ash was saving wild pokemon, the professor gave it to me. I hadn't really used it often."

Ash sighs and says "At least you have a pokedex."
Max then realizes something.
"Hold on! Molly is around my age! How does she have a pokedex?!"

Molly giggles and pulls out a red phone with what looks like eyes. "Papa gave me a Rotom Phone. It has a pokedex feature. It's mainly to talk to him."

Max was fascinated, but May was confused. "Rotom..phone?"

Ash chuckles and says "Rotom phones are popular in Galar. Rotom are pokemon first found in Sinnoh, but some migrated to Alola and Galar, where they help out by being Rotom Pokedexes and Rotom Phones."

May looks fascinated and says "That's super cool!"
Max seemed a bit jealous, but Ash pats his head. "The Professor said a pokenav can be upgraded to include a pokedex. I can tinker with it to help with that."

Max clearly felt better and thanked Ash.
After Ash does that, during which May has her battle with Captain Stern, who used a Wingull this time and she used Beautifly, who luckily, still knows Electroweb from a Wurmple.

So it wasnt long for Wingull to go down, since Wingull weren't known for their defenses.

Now, it was Max's turn, he brought put Treecko and Captain Stern brought out a Huntail.

The two clashed Aqua Tails and Iron Tails, Treecko gaining back health with Mega Drain thanks to Ash's training.

Huntail was making a large Water Pulse and Treecko took this chance to fire a Seed Bomb thanks to a TR Ash gave it.

It wasnt long before Huntail got knocked out. The Spheals looked fascinated with Max's battling and Ash's knowledge.

After their pokedexes were updated with the privilege, Ash was feeding the Spheal some of his homemade pokemon food for water types.

The other Spheal rolls to Max, looking fascinated, Max petting the pokemon.

Captain Stern smiled and speaks.
"I think you two should have those Spheal." Ash and Max looks at the pokemon and nods, Ash scanning his new pokemon.

[Spheal, the Clap Pokemon.
It is completely covered with plushy fur. As a result, it never feels the cold even when it is rolling about on ice floes or diving in the sea.
This Spheal is level 30 with the Ability Ice Body, Male, and knows the moves
Water Gun, Defense Curl, Rollout, Encore, Ice Ball, Body Slam, Aurora Beam, Brine, Aqua Ring*Egg Move*, Yawn*Egg Move*, Stockpile*Egg Move*, Spit Up*Egg Move*, Swallow*Egg Move*, Signal Beam*Egg Move*, Fissure*Egg Move*, and Water Pulse*Egg Move*]

Our heroes goes back to the pokemon center, getting ready for the big day tomorrow.
