Chapter 5

~Claire~

I got to sleep in today because of the whole 'dead cousin' charade played by the boys. I finally yanked myself out of bed and got myself cleaned up for the day. I had on a blue t shirt with a cookie that had on glasses printed on the front. Under it, it read 'smart cookie'. I wore a gray jacket and a with skirt with buttons down the side. I did dress weird and child like, but that was me. A 19 year old who sometime dressed like a 12 year old. But thats ok because I usually only dressed like that when I intended on staying home, which I did.

Niall texted me asking what to do. I texted back saying the boys could come to my flat, which they all agreed. They got here and we all decided first we would eat. I made them all scrambled eggs which they gobbled up happily.

"So now what?" Niall asked. I looked around trying to find something to do.

"Indoor pool downstairs." I said pointing to the floor. They all wore excited expressions and nodded. I quickly texted the girls, since they had no classes right now.

"Meet you downstairs." I told the boys, running into my room to change. I decided on a ruffled white bikini. I put on a pink sweatshirt and some shorts and ran into the living room. Halle and Brittany got home and changed and we all walked down together.

We walked into the private pool which I assumed the boys had paid for it to be reserved today because of the sign with only our names on it. We walked in and I couldn't help but let my mouth drop open. The boys were all swimming in their underwear and they looked fit!

I quickly snapped out of my gaze and followed the girls so we could set our stuff down. Niall saw me and smiled. I tore off my cover up, revealing my bikini. I couldn't help but notice Niall had the same expression I had when I first saw him. I did think I was fat, but my friends always said I was a twig.

I ran into the water, and jumped in screaming 'cannon ball'. All the boys laughed at my silliness and swam up to me except Zayn who was sitting on a chair.

"Can't swim." Liam had whispered to me, noticing me staring in confusion at Zayn.

"Rocking the bikini." Zayn said winking from where he was sitting. I rolled my eyes and playfully punched him in his arm. Niall flung his arm over my shoulders and glared at Zayn. Gosh, boys are so jealous.

We all swam around for a while, Louis and Harry constantly flirting with Hallie and Brittany. I couldn't help but think they would all make cute couples.

"I'm hungry." Niall complained around lunch time. I giggled and got out of the water.

"I'll go run and get us some Nando's!" I said throwing on my cover up. They all clapped happily as I left.

"I'll join her. Getting wrinkly." said Liam wiggling his fingers, showing they had gotten wrinkly from too much water. We both headed towards Nando's and waited in line as people were already up there.

"So how are you and Niall?" Liam asked me.

"Great." I said smiling. Liam smiled and nodded.

"Good. He deserves someone." He said. I smiled and leaned my head on his shoulder.

"Have you ever been in love?" I asked him. I felt him stiffen and then relax.

"Yes. With a girl named Daniel. She and I were perfect for each other-- at the time. But we drifted apart, and we are no longer perfect for each other." he said seriously. I looked up at him with a worried expression.

"Do you think Niall and I will end up like that?" I said nervously. He shook his head and smiled.

"No I don't. You two are different than me and Dani were. You somehow, clicked. I feel Dani and my relationship was forced." he said. I nodded, taking in the information.

"Besides, he loved you too much. If it ends, it will be because you couldn't take the abuse from the fans. That's what happened to Eleanor, Louis' ex girlfriend." he informed me. I would never let go if Niall. I love him too much to let the fans take him away from me.

We got the food and returned to the pool, where we all pigged out. And by 'we' I mean Niall. The rest of us ate in a civilized manor.

We decided to call it a day as Hallie and Brittany realized they were late to their next class. They ran out while the boys got dressed. I dried my hair and flung on my cover up. Niall walked up to me and kissed me goodbye.

"Best decision ever." he whispered leaning his forehead on mine. I cocked an eyebrow confused.

"What?" I asked. He smirked and pecked my lips.

"Asking you to be my girlfriend." he smiled. I giggled and hugged him.

"Bye!" I said as he left. He waved and all the boys left the building. I walked upstairs and sat in my couch. It's only been a few days and Niall and I were already dating. At least it wasn't too rushed, and we had a date first. My phone suddenly buzzed in my pocket and I tames he'd down to find it. I pulled it out and checked the caller ID.

No.

It can't be.

I looked at the name of my ex boyfriend who ruined my life. He tore my heart to shreds and didnt even think about it. I cried countless times for him and he didn't even know. He probably doesn't even know why I hate him.

"Hey." I choked out answering the phone.
