Chapter 4: Helping Hand.

March 6th 2015, Friday.

(You quietly listen as Mr.Blue basically scolds you..)

Mr.Blue: You seem like a bright kid so what's happening here?

Jay: I don't know sir..

Mr.Blue: *Sigh* I don't usually say this.. but, you have to stay after school and practice.

Jay: After school?!

Mr.Blue: Yes. You mess up a lot.. I need you to fully concentrate..

So you will stay here and practice, understood? And you can't get out of this, take it as a punishment.

Jay: Okay sir..

Mr.Blue: Good.

(With a sigh you leave his office..)

{After the school is over}

Sara: So.. bye I guess?

Jay: Bye..

Sara: You don't sound too happy to stay.

Jay: Do I look happy?

Sara: Now that I'm looking at you… no.

(You sigh)

It's funny though from our childhood I was the one getting punishments..

I think this is your first "punishment" and it's pretty bland so.. heads up.

Jay: You're enjoying this too much.

Sara: That I am. Okay I have to go bye.. best of luck. (She hugs you and head towards her car)

Jay: Bye.. (you head towards the music class)

Okay.. time to practice!

(Sighing you start to play the song.. but halfway through you hit the wrong key)

Oh- not again..

(You look at the sheet again..)

Pay attention Jay.. it's not that hard come on.

(With deep breath you start again.. you flawlessly play the piano at least you think you did because..)

Niall: Wrong note. (You look back to see him leaning against the door)

Jay: Ah- Mullen. What are you doing here?

Niall: Well I was here to drop some decorations, was going home but this door was open and heard the piano so I came to check and you're here..

I guess you're practicing kiddo?

Jay: Well this is a punishment dressed as practice.

Niall: I'm guessing you can't play the song?

Jay: It's not that I can't play it.. it's.. I just get distracted and hit the wrong note.

Niall: I heard that. (He comes in, closing the door behind him)

Mind if I help?

Jay: You can play the piano?

Niall: Kinda.. (he comes and sits besides you)

"House of the rising sun" huh?

(He runs his fingers through the keys.. he closes his eyes and with a deep breath he starts the song.. His fingers glide dancingly across the keys.. you feel hypnotized.. you just sit there with your jaw open and listen to him..

He slows down as the songs comes to the end.. he presses the last key)

Jay: Bravo! What do they say? Umm.. Bellismo?
