Chapter 57: Spring Fair.

22'nd March 2016, Sunday.

(As you are washing the dishes an enthusiastic Niall bursts through the door)

Niall: Jay!- Wait, what are you doing?

Jay: Doing the dishes.

Niall: I can see that, I told you not to.

Jay: Come on, let me help! You don't let me clean anything! And frankly, your cleaning skills could use some work. (You point towards a dirty spot on the floor, he sighs and grabs a cloth, immediately wiping it down)

Niall: Anyways, guess where are we going?

Jay: Where?

Niall: To a Carnival! I bought some tickets. (He shows it off)

Jay: Only two?

Niall: Don't worry, I asked Sara but she said no.. something about fixing her grandmother's piano, which definitely sounds like an excuse.

Jay: Her grandma doesn't even own a piano.

Niall: So it was an excuse. Huh.. she probably just wants us two to be alone.. (His hands slip around your waist)

Which I respect.. (He snuggles in your neck)

Jay: That tickles!- (He kisses your neck, you look in the mirror placed on top of the sink to see the faint bite mark that Bradley left on your neck, you focus on washing the dishes.. Niall notices your somber expression)

Niall: Is something wrong?

Jay: Hm? No.. (He distances himself from you)

Niall: I'm sorry won't do it again, I know we are like.. slowly building things back. It's just we have been living what? More than two months now. I..

Jay: You?

Niall: I just.. really like this..

Jay: Me too.. (he squeals, probably the first time you have seen him)

Niall: Let's get married tomorrow. (You laugh)

Jay: Woah Mullen, we are not even official yet.

Niall: We can be..

Jay: Uh huh.. Baby steps. (You wipe your hands and snatch the tickets)

Spring Fair today, Official later.. (You walk away)

Niall: What about tomorrow? (You shake your head)

(After getting dressed you two reach the fair.

People mingle around you in the spring breeze, you hear screams of excitement as people enjoy the rides)

Niall: Where to first?

Jay: We have to win a teddy bear!

(You lead him towards a booth)

Niall: How to play this?

Booth Attendant: You get five bullets, on the walls there are prizes, you just shoot on what you want.

Niall: Got it, Jay let me win you a prize.

Jay: Okay- (He holds the rifle and gives you a smug smile)

Good luck. (With a cocky grin he pulls the trigger.. and it misses..)

Niall: Oh- well, I believe in second chances.

(He takes another shot and and it misses as well)

Jay: It's okay..

Niall: Yeah! Third times the charm. (He takes another shot, and finally hits a prize)
