"i will be visiting the restaurant tomorrow afternoon."

y/n tossed and turned on her bed. she had yet to open the packages she received. the wooden box sat on her bedside table as she scanned the envelope again.
hesitant, she carefully opened the letter. the sound of crisp paper being torn open and the fresh scent of ink reminded her of how long ago it was the last time she received a letter.
she didn't expect some formal letter. she didn't have to. there's nothing formal to talk to her about at all.

"dear y/n,
it's me, childe. i wanted to send you this letter as a token of apology of what happened.
little teucer makes a fine delivery boy, eh?
anyways, onto the formal content. i apologize for what happened. my humor isn't the best option to enlighten the mood. i hope you did not take it seriously.
inside the wooden box, it is a jade hairpin i picked up when i was walking through the local market. i hope you like it.
i will be visiting the restaurant tomorrow afternoon.
cheers,
childe."・

y/n furrowed her brow in realization.
so this ajax.. is childe? how many names does this boy have!
childe's handwriting was completely different from his personality. clean, delicate, it was almost like a woman wrote it. fresh strokes of ink, blossoming on paper like spring flowers. fresh strokes of ink, writing their way into y/n's heart. words, light and elegant, with full dots and gentle curves, carrying the sincerity of a certain boy with ginger hair.
sliding off the lid of the small wooden box, the glimmer of deep green stone caught y/n's attention.
reflecting the dim light of y/n's bedside lamp, the stone glittered a curious shade of verdant. gold silk caressing the sides of the stone, with delicate garlands on the side. garlands of gold, pearl and silver, like a river of moon dust. a single needle stood out, rose gold.
y/n stared at the hairpin for quite a long period of time. it all seemed surreal to her. such a precious pin, resting on the palm of her hands.
why would childe spend so much on her?
it made her stomach feel butterflies once again. although y/n doesn't want to admit it, it deeply gladdened her to know that childe had once thought of her.
trying on the hair pin, y/n saw her reflection on the mirror. she almost was like.. liyue royalty. the jade pin was too much for her. she could not wear such valuable ornaments to work.
but childe will be visiting tomorrow.
y/n didn't want to seem like she didn't like the pin. in fact, she loves it so much. she was deeply overwhelmed by the value of that item.
she carefully put the pin back into its box. dragging her fingers across the perimeter of the wooden box, she dwelt on the possibilities.
surely it isn't all real good and pearls, right?
