Chapter 4 - Reassurance My friend

Tom's POV
About two hours after you left, you walked home. You were pretty upset that you left, but you understood.
Tom: I'll go back later.
You text Julie to hang out, she agrees to, and you head to the park. She and her friends are there.
Julie: Tommy Boy, welcome.
You wave hi to them.
Julie: you look upset.
Tom: I'm fine. What are you all doing?
Julie: nothing much, just hanging around.
She jumps off the swing set and takes your hand, and leads you someplace.
Tom: where are we going?
Julie: we're going to talk because you upset about something.
You both sat near the Pier.
Julie: Tell me what's up.
Tom: I don't want to drop. my problems onto you, and it's silky. I'm probably just overthinking it.
She holds his hand and looks him in the eye.
Julie: I'm here to listen, okay, just tell me.
Tom: I was at Y/N's house like most of the time, but for the first time, I just left after he told me I could do something else.
Julie: how do you feel?
Tom: I'm upset that I left. I should be taking care of him right now, not Leon.
Julie: you're jealous.
Tom: pfft, I have nothing to be jealous about. Leon couldn't replace me.
Julie: Sure, Tommy.
Tom: oh, it's almost dinner time at y/n's place. He told me to invite you.
He stands and offers his hand to her.
Julie: Sure, I'll come.
She takes his hand, and they walk to your house.
Your POV
You finish studying with Leon and the twins.
Jessica: your dad's cooking smells so good.
Diego: let's start heading downstairs.
Everyone helps you get downstairs.
Leon: see, it was that hard.
Y/N: you need to gain some muscles. I felt you struggling back there.
Leon: no way here. Feel them.
Tom walks in and sees you feeling Leon's arms. He walks towards the both of you.
Tom: hey, what going on.
Y/N: Leon athletic feel his arms, dude.
Tom: not as athletic as me here. Feel mines.
Julie walks up.
Julie: what's this a strong boy contest.
Y/N: I guess you decided the winner. I'm going to check if the food is done.
You leave the area and head to the backyard.
Tom: y/n wait, you didn't feel mines.
He follows you, leaving Leon and Julie behind.
Dad: hey, champ food is pretty much done, and your mother should be home in about five minutes.
Y/N: thanks for doing this, dad.
Dad: of course.
Tom walks up to you and takes your hand.
Tom: here, feel mines.
Y/N: why?
Tom: you felt Leon's, so you should see who can take better care of you.
Y/N: Leon's is okay. I was just joking with him.
Tom: oh.
He nervously laughs.
Y/N: are you okay?
Tom: I just need a hug right now, that's all.
Julie comes and hugs him from behind.
Julie: gotcha, Tommy boy.
Tom: oh, Julie.
Julie: y/n tell me all his secrets.
Y/N: he'd kill me if I did, but hey, once my leg heals up, we're going to try to hit the beach before the fall weather hits.
Julie: It sounds like fun I'm in.
Tom: When did you plan this?
Y/N: with Leon at the hospital, he pretty much is planning everything isn't that nice.
He takes your hands.
Tom: I can help with anything else you need, okay.
Y/N: yeah, umm, could you get some plates same spot as usual.
He gives you a thumbs up and heads into the kitchen.
Y/N: Is he okay?
Julie: He just jealous that your spending time with Leon. He thinks you're going to replace him.
Y/N: I would never do that.
Julie: can you talk to him? It would mean a lot to him.
Y/N: sure.
You go inside to see Leon and Tom Laughing together with they haven't noticed that you're here.
Leon: you want to arm wrestle me.
Tom: Winner gets to take care of Y/N until he gets better.
Leon: listen, man, I'm pretty sure you got your plateful with Julie.
He places his arm on the table.
Tom: I'll be fine.
You walk into the kitchen.
Y/N: what's going on here?
Tom: just an arm-wrestling match you want to watch.
Y/N: no thanks, Tom. What's with you, man; you don't usually act so overprotective like this.
He walks over to you.
Tom: I'm fine, I promise.
You hug him and rub his back.
Y/N: You don't have to worry your always going to be my best friend. Nothing can change that, okay.
Tom: of course I know that.
You could feel the tear fall from his face. You haven't hugged each other for a while. It was nice you stop and wipe the tears from his eyes.
Y/N: look at you crying.
Tom: don't tease me.
Leon grabs the plates and walks to the both of you.
Y/N: thanks, Leon, help me outside.
Leon: sure.
Tom stayed in the kitchen, finally breathing normally.
Tom: What is wrong with me?
