Chapter 5 - Last Summer Breeze

Two weeks go by, and you finally get your cast-off, and you tried to stand. Tom rushes to you.
Tom: Hey, let me help.
Y/N: Thanks.
You take small steps, slowly getting your footing back.
Y/N: thanks for coming with me today.
Tom: of course I haven't seen you lately. How have you been doing?
Y/N: I been fine.
Tom: and you and Leon, how's that going?
Flashback to a week ago at Leon's House
You were studying in Leon's room, and he touches your hand.
Leon: y/n I been thinking.
Y/N: yeah?
Leon: will you be my boyfriend?
You look at him with the biggest grin on your face and nod your head.
Y/N: yes.
Leon sighs in relief, and you kiss his cheek just as Tom walks in.
Back to the present day
Y/N: we're fine. How's you and Julie
Tom: we're okay, I guess.
You continued to walk with Tom.
Tom: I bet you are excited to go to the beach soon.
Y/N: you still haven't told us if your going to go.
Tom: You know I don't have the best history when it comes to beaches.
Y/N: you mean when you got stung by that jellyfish.
Tom: and you pissed on me.
Y/N: it was a do-or-die situation.
Tom: sure it was, or maybe it was revenge for when. I ate your last piece of Halloween candy.
Y/N: maybe.
Tom: Okay, I'll go.
Y/N: good because if my best friend weren't there, I would be distraught.
You started to catch your footing and began to walk on your own.
Y/N: it feels so weird, but I'm getting used to it.
Tom: you are doing great.
He smiles, and you get a phones notification
Y/N: Leon's coming to pick me up.
Tom: guessing that means I have to leave, huh?
Y/N: Of course not unless you want to.
You both just stand there nervously.
Tom: I'm going to go umm finish some assignments for school.
Y/N: wait before you go; I got us something.
You walk to your bag, and you'll pull out two necklaces with yours and ton initials on them.
Tom: for me?
You put it on him, and you see his face light to with joy.
Tom: thank you, y/n.
He hugs you this one tighter than the last time he didn't want to let go.
Y/N: I'll see you at the beach tomorrow after school.
He lets go and nods his head yes, then leaves the room, only looking back once.
Y/N: weirdo.
The Next Day
After school, you rush home to pack your beach stuff.
Mom: y/n I got something to tell you. I think you're going to be excited.
You sit down next to her.
Y/N: Is everything okay?
Mom: so I just wanted you to know you are going to be a big brother soon.
You jump up with excitement.
Y/N: congratulations, mom.
Mom: also, this beach trip better have you home before 12.
She kisses your forehead and leaves the room.
Y/N: I'm going to be a big brother. I must tell Leon
You text Leon; he congratulated you and said he's outside; you looked out.
Leon: Calling soon-to-be older sibling Y/n down to the ground floor.
Y/N: Here I come.
You grabbed everything and headed outside.
Leon: everyone's there already.
Y/N: I'm so excited. Let's get going, shall we?
You get on the back of his bike, holding him tightly; you could feel his muscles through his thin shirt.
Y/N: this is nice, the cool summer breeze.
Leon: I can't wait to see how the beach is.
Y/N: hopefully, it's nice.
You arrive at the beach, and you see Tom waiting for you; he walks towards you with a hug ready.
Tom: Welcome, Bestie.
You hug each other for maybe too long of a time.
Y/N: you were hugging everyone who walked past?
Tom: umm yeah, of course.
He walks over to Leon.
Leon: you don't have to do this, man.
And he awkwardly hugs him and Quickly lets us go; you laugh, and you all head to the shore.
Jessica: You finally made it.
She rushes to you and gives you a flower necklace.
Jessica: you look adorable.
Y/N: really?
She turns you to Tom and Leon.
Jessica: Doesn't he?
Leon: of course.
Y/N: thanks.
Tom takes a good look at you.
Tom: I have to find Julie.
He quickly leaves.
Leon: I'm going to go set us up, and then we can hit the water.
He sets everything up, then towels down, and the cooler that he brought.
Y/N: what did you bring your whole refrigerator?
Leon: sorry if I brought too much.
You take his hand.
Y/N: come on, the waters are not going to come to us.
Tom's POV
You walk to find Julie; she's hanging out with her friends.
Julie: hey Tommy boy.
You look at her with a half-smile.
Julie: what wrong?
Tom: I'm just tired, you know.
Julie: come here, baby.
You lay next to her. It's comfy.
Tom: this is nice.
Julie: only if you were like this every time.
Tom: Sorry, my mind just goes elsewhere.
Julie, she looks at you from a distance.
Julie: I understand we should play truth or dare with the others.
Tom: That sounds fun. Yeah, let's go.
They both walked towards you, all holding hands.
Your POV
You and Leon are having slash fights until you notice Tom walk over.
Tom: y/n!
He waves to you, and you walk over, leaving Leon.
Y/N: what up, Holland.
Tom: let's play truth or dare.
Y/N: sure, I'll get Leon.
He grabs your hand.
Tom: just call him over silly.
Y/N: oh yeah, LEON!
He swims over.
Leon: what's going on.
Julie: we are playing Truth or dare you in?
Leon: sure.
You both get out of the water. Tom passes you a towel.
Y/N: thanks.
Tom: no problem.
Julie walks up to Leon.
Julie: I need your help.
Leon: with what exactly?
Julie: I think Tom likes Y/N, but he won't admit to it.
Leon: I been thinking the same thing.
Julie: just try your best to help me out.
Leon: got it.
You all sit in a circle.
Jessica: what's going on here?
Y/N: Truth or Dare wanna okay.
Jessica: nope.
She quickly leaves.
Diego: what-
Jessica: don't even ask.
She drags him with her.
Jessica: just watch what's about to go down, brother of mine.
Diego: guessing it isn't going to go well.
Jessica: Nope.
The sun started to set.
Julie: I'll go first, Leon Truth or Dare?
Leon: Dare.
Julie: Bold man, take your shirt off for us, Leon.
Tom: what?
Leon started to take his shirt off; you sat there and watched until it was entirely off.
Y/N: Wow, Leon.
Tom looks at you; his face was a bit angry.
Leon: you want to feel?
Y/N: I think I'll pass this time.
Julie: can I feel?
Leon: sure, go ahead.
She feels his wet biceps you didn't mind, and apparently, neither did Tom. He was just staring at you the whole time.
Leon: Tom!
Tom snaps out of it and looks at Leon.
Leon: Truth or Dare Man.
Tom: dare.
Leon: Okay, I dare you to streak into the water.
Tom: pfft, easy.
He started to strip but then stops.
Tom: you're not allowed to look.
Y/N: OK, I won't look.
You cover your eye and hear him running into the water.
Tom: holy shot, it fucking cold!
You hear his rushing back.
Y/N: can I uncover my eyes now?
Tom: Yeah.
You uncover your eyes to see a wet tom in his underwear.
Tom: don't give me that face. I won't get sick, I promise anyway, truth or dare y/n.
Y/N: let's keep the daring train going.
Tom: I dare you to cliff jump with Julie.
Y/N: are you insane.
Tom: come on, it will be fun.
Julie: I'm down for it.
Y/N: I'm scared of height.
Julie: I'll hold your hand the whole way.
Y/N: okay, fine.
You all walk to the nearest cliff.
Y/N: Shit.
You look down. It isn't that high, but your mind makes it seem that way.
Julie: you ready?
Y/N: don't let go.
She takes your hand, and you both jump. You let out the highest pitch while falling until you hit the water.
Leon: Holy smokes.
Tom and Leon both rush down. Julie comes out of the water
Tom: y/n?
Julie: that was pretty fun.
Tom passes by her and goes into the water.
Tom: y/n!!!
You come from underneath the water, scare him he jumps.
Y/N: got you.
He quickly hugs you. You could feel his heart pounding fast and his body shivering.
Tom: you scared me half to death, I thought.
Y/N: Tom, I'm fine now. Let's get out. It's freezing in here.
You both leave out the water.
Y/N: are we still playing?
Julie: Sure, it's your turn, though.
Y/N: I can't think of any right now. Take my turn, Julie.
Julie: okay then, truth or dare Tommy Boy?
Tom: Dare.
Julie: I dare you to kiss Y/N.
Tom's eyes widen, and you look at him.
Leon: you don't have to if you don't want to.
Y/N: We never back down from a challenge, right, Tom?
He looks at you nervously.
Tom: Right.
You both look at each other.
Jessica: a moment of truth, big bro.
Diego: shit.
Tom looks at you, and he backs away.
Tom: I can't do this.
Y/N: you okay.
He backs away from you.
Y/N: Tom?
He looks at you with tears in his eyes, grabs his clothes, and then leaves. You chase after him.
Y/N: Tom, where are you going?
Tom: Home.
You reach the parking lot, and you grab his arm before he gets on his scooter.
Y/N: did I say something that upset you? I'm sorry.
He looks at you, and before you knew your lips were on his you your first kiss is with your best friend. Once you both stop, you just stood there in silence.
Y/N: sorry, I was just in shock.
Tom: see, we did it.
Y/N: Yeah.
Tom: I'm, umm, going to head for a drive.
Y/N: can I come with you?
Tom: Sure.
