Chapter 6 -Just Talk to Me

You and Tom are just driving around the city.
Y/N: I hate this.
Tom: I hate it too.
He parks at a nearby fountain.
Tom: remember this place.
Y/N: oh yeah, this is where we first hung out as kids. Your mom patched up so many of my wounds here.
You both laugh and sit down near the edge of the fountain.
Y/N: I don't want things to be awkward between us, okay.
Tom: I know.
Y/N: so we both agree that kiss meant absolutely nothing.
Tom: agreed.
You both hug each other
Y/N: I'm going to walk home. See you at school tomorrow?
Tom: Yeah.
You leave, and Tom sits at the fountain staring at the water.
Tom's POV
Tom: why did I have to kiss him.
You decided to call Jessica.
Jessica: Hey, you left your beach stuff here.
Tom: do you think you could meet me someplace?
Jessica: Sure ill be there soon.
You hang up and start pacing.
Tom: but what do I say to Julie? I can't just, but I'm not sure, or maybe I am and is only in denial.
You hear a car Park nearby. It's Jessica and Diego.
Jessica: aye, you look like you about to, don't you, okay?
Diego: please don't vomit. I have a weak stomach.
Tom: I think I like y/n.
Jessica: Diego, you owe me 20 bucks.
Diego: Damit.
Jessica: What made you come up to the obvious conclusion.
Tom: I kissed him in the parking lot.
Jessica: Really!
Tom: Yeah, and it felt good like I achieve something I have wanted for a long time.
They sit next to you.
Tom: I enjoy being around y/n he makes me happy, and I don't want to ruin that over some feelings.
Diego: Plus, you're with Julie, so that would make things even more complicated.
Tom: and he's with Leon. Seeing them together just hurts. It's like I'm stepping on shards of glass.
Jessie: well, at least he thinks the kiss was just for the bet.
Tom: yeah, but I'm going to tell Julie.
You call her, and she picks up.
Julie: Tommy Boy, where did you go? I was worried sick.
Tom: I'm at the fountain near Central mall.
Julie: I'm on my way.
She hangs up.
Jessica: well, we're going to let you two talk it out.
Diego: just let her down gently; okay, man.
They leave you with your thoughts until Julie arrives.
Julie: Tommy Boy.
Tom: Hey, umm.
Julie: listen, I understand you have romantic feelings for y/n.
You look at her, surprised.
Julie: it's pretty noticeable, and I should have known I didn't stand a chance, but I'm hoping we can still be friends.
Tom: of course.
You hug each other, tears flowing through your eyes.
Tom: Thanks for understanding.
Julie: of course were good mates.
She stood up and started heading out of the area.
Julie: good luck with your love quest. Keep me posted, okay.
Tom: of course.

Your POV
You wake up. It's been three days since the beach day and your still finding sand everywhere. Tom hasn't texted or even talked to you since then.
Y/N: I hope Tom is okay. He hasn't been to school in a few days, but he would call me unless he's.
You walk to his house and knock on his door.
Harry: oh hey y/n.
Y/N: is Tom home?
Harry: he is, but he's sick come in.
You walk in and head straight to his room; you slowly open the door; Tom was sleeping.
Y/N: oh, he sleeps.
You sneak in.
Y/N: at least his room is clean this time.
You look around to see his laptop still open.
Y/N: It wouldn't hurt to take a peek.
You go to it and.
Y/N: Oh my goodness, Thomas, maybe he curious, but he has a girlfriend. Why is he looking up Male/Male porn?
You look at him and then back to the laptop.
Y/N: I want to ask him, but I don't want to wake him.
Then your loud-ass phone notification goes off, which wakes Tom up.
Y/N: Shit.
Tom: y/n what are you doing here?
He sniffles and tries to get up.
Y/N: no, lay back down.
You walk to him and lay him back down.
Y/N: you need rest.
Tom: go ahead and say you told me so.
You smile at his stand-up.
Y/N: I won't, but I should go. I didn't want to bother you.
Tom: no, could you please stay.
You sit back down with him.
Tom: I just want company, please.
Y/N: of course I forgot to tell you, my mom is
having a baby.
Tom: hey *cough* congrats, well me and Julie broke up.
Y/N: What-what happened?
Tom: it was a mutual agreement we found people that we loved more than each other, but we're still friends, though.
Y/N: sorry about the breakup, man.
Tom: it's okay. How are You and Leon doing?
Y/N: He invited me to the Autumn Festival this year.
Tom grips the bedsheets
Tom: that's umm nice.
Y/N: but I told him it's a tradition that you and I go together.
Tom: really?
Y/N: of course, we always went together since we were little.
You grab tom hand, and he jumps up and yanks it away.
Y/N: you okay?
Tom: Yeah, umm, I'm fine just having the shivers.
Tom's eyes started to start to get heavy slowly.
Y/N: you look tired. I should go.
Tom: don't go, please.
Y/N: you need to rest Tom, I'll come to visit tomorrow.
As you got up and headed towards the door, tom quickly jumped up and grabbed your hand.
Tom: Stay, Please.
He started to drop to his knees.
Y/N: Tom!
Tom: I-
You carry him back over to his bed. He's super sweaty, and you fill his forehead.
Y/N: you're burning up, seriously.
Your text Leon is telling him that you're taking care of tom today. He asked if he could help, and you started driving over. After a while, his fever started to go down.
Tom: Y/N, can I tell you something.
Y/N: is that even I question.
Tom: umm, it's a weird question. Would you date someone like me?
You chuckled but then stopped. You could tell he was serious.
Y/N: I mean, I'm not going to lie; I thought about it a few times, but in my head, it never really worked out each time I thought about it.
Tom: you thought about it.
Y/N: yeah, but you don't have to worry. I only see you as a friend.
Tom: as a friend, lovely.
Leon comes into the room with meds.
Leon: I got some meds.
He kisses your forehead and your smile.
Tom: Hey Leon.
Leon: Hey, I'm sorry that you got sick.
Tom: eh, I'll be fine.
Leon: well, I have to head back home. I'll see you both tomorrow, hopefully.
Y/N: okay, stay safe, okay.
He leaves the room, and you take medicine out of the bag.
Tom: so what precisely wrong with you know dating me?
Y/N: it's nothing wrong it's just I kept telling myself not to see you in that way. I didn't want to ruin the friendship that we had.
Tom: oh.
Y/N: why do you ask? You're not in love with me, are you?
He panics.
Tom: of course not. I was just wondering.
You help him take his medicine, and you laid next to him.
Tom: Y/N.
Y/N: Yeah.
Tom: I think I'm umm, I think I'm Gay.
You both turn to each other.
Y/N: I checked your laptop history.
Tom: You What!!!
