"Well, that came out of nowhere." Haya's voice comes out breathy as she scoots over on the bed, scratching her nose with her forefinger.

"Whatever. I find it romantic. I'm sure he did love her too much and they didn't need to be in a relationship for him to propose a marriage. I think he was genuine." Alejandra argues.

Nina who is sitting in between the two remains quiet as her eyes go over the words written on the page for another time.

I am determined to be the one who will remain constant in her life, and she in mine. And I'd be damned if she denies me the honor of being her husband because I couldn't imagine a life without her around anymore. There is not a word in the dictionary or in any book that can accomplish a definition of how hard I fell in love with her...she is everything to me now.

"I'm not saying he's not. I mean, he obviously liked her since day one. I ship hashtag-Harlie, ya'know?" Haya bites back with a 'duh?' undertone in her voice, rolling her brown doe eyes at her friend.

"It's hashtag-Charry, idiot." Ale mutters.

"Harlie sounds better, you old-fashion thot."

"Rude."

"Can you, girls, just shut up? Let's just read, yeah?" The only blonde in the room hisses under her breath, giving her two friends stern side glances.

That seems to shut the two bickering friends because they immediately zip their mouths and squeeze closer to Nina, but not before giving each other an exchange of it's-your-fault glares.

Haya secretly sticks her tongue out at Alejandra, but the latter only rolls her eyes at how childish the other is being.

"Haya." Nina presses, scolding the girl on her left side.

She quickly straightens up and presses her lips tightly together, as if to show she's behaving.

A devious smirk tugs at the corner of Ale's lips and sticks her tongue out at the reprimanded girl, pulling it back hastily before the blonde could catch her.

"I caught that, Ale." Nina says grimly, not taking her eyes off of the date that is scribbled on the next page of the journal. "Can you, guys, just act your age sometimes?" She finishes with a bored tone, her eyes scanning over the writings as she does so.

"Alright. Our apologies, Dr. Riley." Alejandra muses but the blonde only brushes it off with a shake of the head.

"Are you done mocking each other now, for real?"

"Yes, ma'am." The two chorus like obedient students.

"Okay, let's finish reading this," Nina instructed as if they are in a mission, flipping the remaining pages in the journal. "There are only a few pages left on the first journal."

The two nod affirmatively.

Charlie is late...incredibly late.

An hour after the small talk with Lisa -- which actually lasted for over half an hour because not only did she give Harry encouragements, but the 'small talk' actually comprised few of Charlie's childhood stories, relationship advices (that God knows he needs) and a mix of warnings just in case he breaks her heart (she delivered them in a joking manner, but he knows there was a sincerity behind her words) and reassurance that he has become a family to her as well -- and she still hasn't appeared in the diner yet. An hour from their agreed time has already went by and Charlie is still a no-show.
