"Well..." The blonde girl trails off, heaving a sigh while her eyes freely scans the not-so-crowded road. Some time between waiting for the bus to come, Harry has swayed her to spill as both of them decided to take a seat by the bench. "His name's Harry Styles."
Harry tries to obliterate the amused smirk threatening to break out of his face by pursing his lips, looking down between the proximity of their laps momentarily before meeting Charlie's blue eyes once again.
"Sounds familiar." Harry quips, granting the girl a tight-lipped smile.
"We'll our thing has kind of been circulating around the tabloids the past days, so..." Charlie smiles up at Harry as she plays with the strap of her bag.
"He's famous, then?" Harry actually cringes at the way he sounds nonchalant about it. He could actually pound on himself for being so sadistic -- for tolerating Charlie to lie through her teeth.
He knows Charlie isn't one for lying and making up stories. He feels that in the very core of his chest, although they've only been hanging around together for less than a day. There must be a reason...
Charlie continues to relay the tale of her and the popular businessman's relationship; oblivious to the fact that the man is already right in front of her, sitting next to her.
Harry watches carefully as the blonde girl's facial expression changes as she continues on. Charlie smiles like an idiot and huffing at certain parts of the story for an effect. He listens closely, not actually taking in the details the girl has flattened out into conciseness. Lured by the way her lips move rapidly, Harry is not catching up to every word but he can get some bits and pieces.
Lies...
Lies...
Lies...
The same word replays at the back of his head, chanted into his ears, but he listens to Charlie nonetheless. If anything, Harry doesn't find her any less bit adorable and attractive. He laughs with her at some exaggerated parts, pretending to sympathize with her when she got to the part where "they (she and her boyfriend) fought over the phone and her workmates overheard". If he doesn't know any better, he would be convinced by Charlie's story, just by the way every word comes out naturally from her mouth.
"I swear, Aiden, it was just supposed to be between me and Harry. But I'm caught red-handed talking to him." A melodramatic sigh is released through her parted pink lips, rolling her eyes in annoyance.
"Oh well, you've no choice. It's out now." Harry shrugs as he fiddles with his fingers in front of himself. "What did he say when the word got out, by the way?"
"We had a small argument, of course. He's a private person, but I guess we're okay now."
More than okay.
"What does he look like?" Harry's green eyes look at her blue ones with greater intensity. Charlie could feel herself melting by the piercing curious stare the brunette lad is giving her.
"Uhm..." She hesitates. "What do you mean by "what he looks like"?" She does an air-quote at the intended words.
"Literally."
"Oh." Her eyes looks up at the narrow awning providing them a small shade from the sunlight. The brief pause is buying her the time to think of the descriptions of 'her boyfriend' she gave the last person who had asked her. "He's got this beautiful brown hair, a shade lighter than yours." She continues with a hint of giddiness underlying in her tone. "Tall, fair-skin, green eyes. He'd always insist to style his hair into a quiff, despite how many times I told him it doesn't look good on him." She giggles, the fond smile plastered on her face as her eyes trail from a blank space to the man right beside her.
