Harry groans while his eyes are still shut, turning to his side as he sinks deeper to his pillowcase. Looking almost like a child being tucked into sleep. He looks peaceful. His lips are pursed as slight snores slip their way out of his nose.
Liam pulls the duvet up to his cousin's chest, patting it securely to him before standing up from the bed. He lingers for a while, watching Harry in his peaceful state. He has grown over the years...both of them, but he still cares about him like they always did for each other since they were still kids.
His heart sinks to the floor at the thought that by the time Harry wakes, every thing is still not the way they used to be. He still wouldn't remember him unless he shows the photo of him as his proof that they are blood relatives. Harry is a good person. He doesn't deserve such result from a tormenting experience. He not only lost his memory, he also lost the woman he so expectantly wanted to marry and spend the rest of his happy life with. But all the hopes and dreams were broke down into hundred shards and washed away forever. He could not stand the thought that his cousin could no longer live a normal life.
"I'm sorry, Harry. I'm really, really sorry." Liam whispers into the air as if it was his fault. It wasn't. Something painful blocks his throat, making him squeak and he runs towards Harry's kitchen to find something to drink. He reaches the sink only to grip on the edges to support his stupor.
His knees buckle and a whimper flees. He cries for his cousin. He cries for the pain he went through. He cries for the lost love. He cries for the shattered dreams. He cries for the scathed life ahead of Harry...because he knows, no matter how his cousin tries to go back and live a normal life, anterograde amnesia will still be a part of him.
Liam spits into the sink, his saliva tastes bitter against his tongue. His fingers shake as they curl into fists and he punches the surface of the kitchen top in pure agony and anger. He glares at the liquid that is swirling around as he drains them after washing his spit with the tap water. He is seething. They scarred his cousin forever.
His breathing comes back to normal, chest heaving up and down slowly. He closes the faucet and proceeds towards the fridge, finding nothing but few water bottles. No food. Just water.
His arms lean on the door of the furniture and rubs his face with both hands in frustration. Only then does he realize the bare kitchen.
"Does this kid even remember to eat?" He asks himself after closing the fridge. He opens a couple more cabinets in the kitchen, only to find little to no kitchen utensils which is rational since Harry would not remember how to cook. He does find two cartons of cereals and few cups of instant noodles.
He pats the back of his pants to search for his wallet. He fishes it out and quietly counts the notes. Satisfied by the amount -- thinking he'd still have enough for himself --, Liam takes it upon himself to fill up his cousin's fridge and kitchen cabinets with new edible groceries.
He returns to Harry's bedroom, finding him where and how he last saw him. Mentally, he reassures his cousin that he'd be right back with the groceries and check up on him again. If he could stay over, he would to make sure he's there by the time Harry wakes up confused and out of his mind.
