Blood

Everywhere

I screamed, glass around me shattering, body shaking, voice breaking, all alone.

with his body in my arms

and

blood

everywhere.

"NO!" my voice screamed.

The words "no" continued to echo around wherever I was, taunting me.

Teasing me.

Torturing me.

"He's dead and it's your fault."

"No it's not!" I cried, replying to the unknown voice in my head, denying the words.

"He can't be dead. You can't be dead."

My voice became lower, now whispering as I repeated the words 'you can't be dead', voice full of misery and pain.

My hands, soaked in scarlet red blood, shook, clutching his body tighter.

"This isn't real."

I looked up, blinking back my tears in confusion as I glanced around.

"Ashlyn this isn't real."

I turned and saw a man, someone I knew.

"You're the one who sent me back in time!" I gasped, nearly standing up before remembering I had a body on my lap.

Quick sobs made their way into my throat and more pain filled me.

"I didn't do this, It's not my fault he's dead." I cried, almost falling into the body.

"I know, Ashlyn I know. Remember alright? How did he die?"

I looked up in shock, realization filling me as I suddenly couldn't remember how the boy on my lap had died, as if it was a memory I had chosen to lock away.

"Kim Sunwoo..." I trailed off, the boy's name easily rolling off my tongue.

"How can your hands be covered by blood when Kim Sunwoo didn't die that way?" the mysterious man in front of me asked, walking towards me.

I held onto Sunwoo's body even tighter, pulling him closer to me as more blood seeped out of the thin fabric of his clothes and pooled around us in the white floor.

I racked my brain, trying to remember how the love of my life had died before something clicked in my head.

"Burned! He...he was burned alive!" I cried out, finally letting go of Sunwoo and jumping up in surprise.

Sunwoo's body immediately vaporized, causing me to scream and fall backwards.

Within seconds, the mysterious man was by my side, holding me up and preventing me from falling.

I pushed myself off of him and frantically looked around, mind thinking crazily about what could have just happened to Sunwoo.

"Hey! Calm down." the man raised his voice, grabbing my shoulders and stopping me from moving around anymore.

I looked up at the man's face, full of anger and hate since I wanted to find Sunwoo but calmed instantly when I met his beautiful light brown eyes, filled with care and hope.

"That's not Sunwoo." he said, voice firm.

All the previous confusion, hate, and fear had disappeared, almost as if a spell had been cast on me the moment we made eye contact.

"Then where's Sunwoo?" I breathed out, my tears suddenly dry, no signs of tears anywhere.

"He's in the real world, alive. Sleeping on your head and waiting for morning to come." the man said, finally letting go of my shoulders and stepping back, away from me.

"Oh." was the only thing I could say.

Silence filled the air as I replayed my thoughts.

"What's happening right now?" I asked out loud.

"You're dreaming." the man replied, sighing a little before smiling.

That perfect smile that had been almost disturbing to the first time we met.

"What's your name anyways?" I blurted out, startling both of us.

"What? Why do you ask for my name?" the man chuckled, shaking his head.

I straightened myself and brushed off extra bits of invisible dust, steadying my breathing due to what had been happening a few minutes before.

"Han Junyang." the man finally said,  after staring at me for a few seconds.

"Han Junyang?" I repeated and he nodded.

"A..Are you Chinese?"

Junyang looked at me thoughtfully for a few seconds before shrugging.

"I don't know."

He didn't say anything more.

and I woke up.
