She almost told him she loved him. Dante never felt more elated. Finally, confirmation of her feelings. Yes, she admitted to feeling something for him before. But, to nearly tell him she loved him was beyond any hope he held for them.

He had her now. She could play her little games all she wanted. In the end, she was home. Right where she was meant to be. And, together, they would finally be a family with their child.

Until their child was born, however, he would let her think she was winning their war. Besides, her latest stunts were very entertaining. It was years since he had so much fun.

Never did he think his reserved Trinity would be capable of such antics. She was acting like an insolent teenager. It made him wonder how she was as a child. Did she rebel or was she always sweet?

How would their own child be? Would they take after himself or Trinity? He hoped the latter. Trinity was by far the better person.

She would be a good mother too. He knew it. She was smart, caring, loving and strong. Qualities anyone would want.

In the meantime, he would take care of her. Dante checked his calendar. He needed to wake her up soon. She had a doctor appointment shortly before noon. She didn't know about it yet because she didn't give him a chance to tell her.

She was probably going to be irritated he took the liberty of scheduling an appointment without her input. She was more than welcome to select a doctor of her choosing. For now, however, he wanted her to get taken care of as quickly as possible.

Before she could attend said appointment, she needed clothes. He sent Katie to purchase a few items last night and neglected to check in with her after her shopping trip. Dante picked up the phone and dialed for the woman.

A few minutes passed before there was a knock to the door. Bidding her entry, Katie walked in shy.

"Good morning, Mr. Venturi. I bought Trinity clothes, like you asked."

Dante's surprise wasn't hidden. "You mean Miss Aldi," he corrected.

"Oh. Yes. I apologize," she wrung her hands together.

"Are you on a first name basis with her?"

"S-she said it was alright if I called her by her first name. Same with Chef Rick."

"I see. Where did you put her things?"

"In her closet while you were at dinner."

"Good. Come here."

Dante fished his wallet out of his pocket while his maid took tentative steps forward. He waved her on impatiently.

"Y-yes, Mr. Venturi?"

"For your trouble. I appreciate it."

Katie took the five one hundred dollar bills, staring as if she'd never seen paper before. What the hell was wrong with her? He paid well and provided a home for her. She shouldn't be surprised.

"T-thank you, Mr. Venturi. Thank you so much," she gasped, bending at the waist.

"Don't bow at me, Katie. Christ. It's fine. Go. Wait!"

"Oh. Yes?"

"I'm moving to the master suite on Trinity's floor, so please have it cleaned and set up for me by the end of the day. You can take your time with my clothes. I don't care about that."

"Right away, sir."

Satisfied those arrangements were made, Dante pushed away from his desk. He needed to wake Trinity up. She went from being a morning person to a bedbug. He supposed pregnancy made her tired. Plus, being in a new environment didn't help. She was probably homesick. He wished Petra would get her ass there.
