Chapter 9: Karma's POV

I returned to my room and put my arm over my head and thought about what I just did.

 I patted her head. This is normal, isn't it? Then, why is my heart beating so fast?

I shook my head to get rid of the thought and got ready for bed. I soon fell asleep from staring at my ceiling.

...

The next morning came, and the sun's rays were shining brightly onto my face from far away. I eventually woke up after procrastinating if I should stay in my bed for a few more minutes.

 I quickly got ready black outfit and asked the maids to do my hair. They nodded and quickly got my hair done.

"Your guests are waiting in the garden." A maid said. I bowed as a thank you and quickly walk-ran to the garden. 

After 5-minutes of walk-running around the castle to the garden from my room, I eventually found them. 

Kazuko was wearing a white suit, which suited him well. Aoi was wearing a really long dress that reached the floor. 

It could actually clean the floor, I thought.

Y/N was wearing white long-sleeved polo and a black dress over it. She had a light black fur coat placed around her shoulders.

Y/N, Kazuko, and Aoi noticed the silence from me.

"What's wrong?" Aoi said, making me pop out of my daydream bubble.

"Oh- Nothing, sorry." I said. Aoi took my arm and dragged me to the next place. I saw Kazuko flick Y/N forehead. I had no idea why. Y/N placed her left hand on the part where Kazuko flicked it and tried to soothe it. She then flicked Kazuko's forehead. It's like they're trying to irritate me. 

"Quit with the flirting you two," I say, letting go of Aoi's arm and reaching for Y/N's wrist. 

"I guessed it worked," Kazuko said, smirking and put his hand into his pockets. I looked back at Y/N and she shrugged.

"What are you plotting?" I said, eyeing them suspiciously. 

"Nothing very harmful to both of you, don't worry." He gave me a weird smile. 

We all just stood there silently. "C'mon guys. Breakfast is starting. We shouldn't let our parents wait for so long. Plus, our parents have a trip today." Y/N said, to break the silence. After breakfast, we waved our parents goodbye. The day was pretty much the same as every day, though there was one thing that was bothering me.

Y/N was avoiding me. 

It was probably what happened last night... right? I need to apologize to her for it. 

Every time I try to talk to her, she would either turn away or Kazuko/Aoi would pull her away. I don't understand why she was acting so close to Kazuko. It was the first time I felt left out. Everyone would usually talk to me and include me in every conversation. Until now, I've never been kept out of a conversation. 

The rest of the day was like this too. During dinner time, I came up with a plan. 

I need to apologize to Y/N and figure out what's happening before things get worse.

After dinner, we all went to our rooms to do our things for a bit. I was the first one to leave, leaving Y/N, Kazuko, and Aoi alone in the dining room. I went straight to the library. Y/N would always stop by the library before she went to her room. I waited for almost 15 minutes before I heard footsteps coming. When I peeked to see if it was Y/N, I saw her and Kazuko. 

What are both of them doing together? 

I decided to hold back my plan and eavesdrop on what they were talking about instead.

"What should we do? He doesn't seem bothered at all." That was Kazuko's voice.

"I don't want to take it too far." Y/N! What does she mean by that though?

"Do you have actual feelings for him?"

"I- I don't know how to answer that. I don't know what this feeling is. The feeling I get every time I'm around him."

"Back then, have you ever felt like this? When you guys were kids."

"I'm not sure. All I know is I still respect him like how I did when I was younger though!" Respect.. ME? I don't understand. If she did respect me, then why did she avoid me all day today?

There was a long pause. "Are there any more questions you wanted to ask me?"

"With all the answers you gave me so far, I don't think I can figure anything out." He paused. "In your room, I put a few pieces of paper on your bed. Don't show it to anyone. I want you to answer the question the best you can. Return it to me when you're done. With those questions I gave you, it should be easy for you to understand your true feelings."

"Why not ask me here?"

"I feel like someone watching us right now."

"Thank you, Kazuko."

"No need to thank me. I'm just doing what's best for both of you! I better get going before Aoi kills me. Bye Y/N." I heard Kazuko run out of the library and to the hallway.

"Thank you, Kazuko."

"Eh? Karma!" She turned away, not wanting to look at me.

"Look at me Y/N," I said sternly. She still didn't want to look at me. I took my free hand and turned her face to look at me. "Why are you avoiding me Y/N?" I tightened my grip on her wrist.

"Karma, stop! My wrist hurts," she cried out in pain. I let go of her wrist and hugged her. 

"Please don't avoid me like that. I got worried, you know."

"Why do you still care for me? Remember when we were younger, you said you never wanted to see me again." Pushing me away from the hug, her eyes were flooding with tears. 

"Sorry." I said relaxing myself. She held her wrist and tried to soothe it. "Sorry." I said relaxing myself. She held her wrist and tried to soothe it. 

What did I just do.

She gulped and looked up at me. "Let's take a break, I'm a little overwhelmed." I nodded and she turned and walk-ran to her guest room and heard a bang as the door shut. I sighed and went into my room. 

After I showered, I fixed my hair and stared into the mirror. I remembered her face as she looked back at me. 

"Why do you still care for me? Remember when we were younger, you said you never wanted to see me again."

I frowned at what she said and shook it off. I walked to my couch and read to try to get such thoughts out of my head. I eventually fell asleep after reading the book.

Hello! Sorry again for the delay-

I was pretty busy this week and I ran out of ideas on what to write next. (Thank you for my other helper writer on this. (￣。￣) )

This chapter is pretty short compared to the previous chapter but I hope you like it. (To be honest, it's a bit confusing.)

Since this week will reach 10 chapters, I have only planned it to be 15 chapters. (Sorry!) In the future, I due plan to have longer book series.
