The Crowned Enemies

Chapter 10: Y/N's POV

I couldn't believe what happened last night. I put my fist up and thought to myself, I'll pretend nothing happened and nothing should go wrong, right?

Unfortunately, I had dance classes in the afternoon since I haven't gone to them recently because of all the marriage preparations. I had kept stepping on my instructor's foot and made it to the point where his foot was swollen. Whoops.

"I'm very sorry," I said, bowing quickly.

 "It's fine." She replies back. "Is something bothering you or are you just getting used to the footsteps?" My head looked straight up after hearing her say, "Is something bothering you?".

"What's the problem?" She asked, taking a sip of the tea. I explained about the incident I had last night and thought it was childish for me to run off like a crybaby.

"Oh, I see." She answered. "How do you feel about him?" She asks me. I choke on my tea and wipe my face. 

"Uh, a childhood friend? It's hard to explain since we both despised each other once we were younger after a fight we had." I confessed. "He's sometimes an airhead and makes it really obvious at times."

"Tch." 

I turn my back at the 'tch' noise coming from outside the door. The person must've heard me and ran away as footstep noises faded away from the door entrance of the dance room.

"Hun, can you go check to see who it was?" My dance instructor told a maid. She nodded and quickly went on a search to find him. "Sorry about that."

"No worries." I got up from the table and tried to practice the moves the instructor had taught me for the rest of the day.

A bell rang loudly as it was time for dinner. It would be very awkward to face Karma after what happened yesterday, 

The maids provided me a bath and I enjoyed it after a long day of dancing. I pat my body dry with a towel and got a small dress for dinner. I decided to wear heels but as soon as my foot tried to walk outside the door, a small pain went through my body. I then changed into flats after that.

I arrived at the dinner room and the guards opened them up revealing Karma's parents, my parents, Karma's cousins, and Karma himself. I curtsy and walk to a seat far across from Karma to make sure my parents or his parents didn't suspect anything happened tonight.

"Y/N," Karma's father called. "You're sitting next to Karma from now on." I almost fell off my chair but I didn't, my eyes just widened. I sigh quietly and sit next to Karma. I scoot my chair a little to the left to make some space between me and Karma. 

We all dug into our meal and as for me, I ate what I could. I didn't mind if I looked weird for eating almost every food on the table because I was STARVING after dance class. I quickly took a piece of ribs, mash potatoes, (flavor of cake) cake, and vegetables. I covered the mashed potatoes with warm gravy and bit into it.

(A/N: I'm getting hungry just by typing this.)

I savored each bit and ate. I could feel Karma's stare at me but I ignored it. I finished up eating my favorite cake and wiped my face clean. 

I drank some tea to replenish my body. I laid back into my chair a bit and relaxed my shoulders. 

I excused myself from the table and headed back to my room and read until I fell asleep.

I pant as I finish the last few dance steps of the song. My dance instructor gave me a towel and I wiped my face. 

"Miss. L/N," My instructor asked.

"Yes?" I replied, folding the towel back up and taking a sip of water.

"Did you work it out yet? You know, between you and Karma." I pause my drinking session and sigh.

"Not yet." 

Third Person Point of View 

A knock on the door scared Y/N. Y/N proceeded to open the door and low and behold, Karma was standing in front of her.

"Ah-" Y/N blurted as she slowly walked backwards with a sweat appearing on her face. 

Karma kept walking in front of her until her back hit a wall. 

"K-Karma not now." She whispered with a finger in front of her lips. Karma tilted his head and nodded at her. He headed towards the instructor and they talked for a while. During the conversation between them, Y/N ran to the kitchen and got an apple. She munched on it until the core of the apple was left and headed back to the dance room. 

Karma was waiting outside of the door and spotted Y/N. They both spotted each other and Y/N looked away.

This is stupid of me. Why am I acting like a baby. I'll just forgive him! 

Y/N reverted herself and walked herself to Karma and gulped. She bowed in front of him which shocked him. 

"Sorry for acting like a baby. It was stupid of me." She stuttered. Karma chuckled at her and she looked back at him. He moved in closer to Y/N until Kazuko and Aoi appeared with a loud shouting of their names. They quickly moved apart from each other. 

"Y/N~!" Aoi shouted as she came running towards her. She smiled and Aoi grabbed her hand. "You have to see what's happening in the courtyard right now!" Aoi continued and dragged Y/N to the courtyard.

"Ouch! Aoi! My hair!" Y/N exclaimed. Both of the boys chuckled and followed them. 

All four of them arrived shortly and were welcomed with gold and red. A table of four was in the middle of the courtyard. Aoi had the brightest smile on her face. Y/N looked shocked while Karma glanced at her. Kazuko just had his hands in his pockets with a small smile upon his face.

Y/N's parents and Karma's parents came upon the group and the group looked surprised.

"Happy Birthday Y/N." The parents burst out. Karma, Aoi, and Kazuko chimed in with, "Happy Birthday". 

Y/N looked shocked and everyone was confused. She put her hand on her head. 

"EH?!" She screamed. "TODAY'S MY BIRTHDAY?!" She covered her mouth after screaming. Aoi was surprised she forgot her own birthday. 

"Looks like you forgot with everything going on." Kazuko laughed as he ruffled his hair. Karma nodded in agreement to what Kazuko said. 

The group all sat at the table and ate cake and delicious food. 

The sun was setting and they all called it a day. Kazuko and Aoi went back to their rooms leaving the other two by themselves. The silence was loud and both of them knew it.

 "Uh. Thank you for today." Y/N muttered.

"Mhm." He nods.

They arrive in front of each other's room doors. 

"Night." They both say in unison. Karma chuckles and proceeds into his room.

Y/N took off her flats and flopped onto her bed and sighed. 

"I think I ate too much." Y/N said to herself as she patted her stomach. The moon shone brightly through her room window and her eyelids were getting heavy. Soon darkness filled the area upon her.
