The Crowned Enemies

Chapter 6: Y/N's POV

I came back from the meeting with Karma, my future husband. I'm glad I didn't interact with him. I knew he was in a bad mood and when he's in a bad mood, he could kill you with one word. (Not literally.) When he was younger, he would always protect me from the bullies. Haha, he was so cute back then. Until the fight we had.

To be honest, it was kinda ridiculous now that I talk about it in my present self. We were fighting on who was going to overtake the throne first. Back then, we didn't know anything about being royal. I thought it was about being a pretty girl. A pretty girl wearing a crown. People said I would become a great leader and I felt very happy when they said that but now, I'm not sure anymore. I do like being a princess but it's more than just being a pretty girl wearing a crown everywhere. 

Karma thought being a prince meant ruling over the whole world and telling people what to do. We were so small to understand anything.

Anyways, I was looking forward to not seeing Karma again. I took a bath, which was actually relaxing. I put my pajamas on and I quickly fell asleep.

...

The following day, I heard bells ringing loudly. I woke up to the sound of the bells and three maids rushed into my room.

"Sorry Miss. L/N," A maid said, "I think you forgot you're meeting him today too." I was shocked. Another day of seeing him? I couldn't even handle yesterday. I sigh and I get out of bed. The maids quickly started dressing me in a deep green dress that stopped at my ankles. I insisted on wearing flats but they gave me heels. They gave me a gold necklace, bracelet, and earrings. I took out the bracelets and I nodded in approval.

I followed the guards and led me to the dining room. The guards opened up the doors revealing my mother and father, Karma's parents, and a few other maids and assistants.

"Please forgive me for being late." I bowed and continued, "I forgot there was another meeting today." My father led his hand to my seat which was right in front of Karma. I felt my dad's eyes on me. I smiled to ensure my dad that I was doing ok, though I was actually terrified to see Karma again. I don't know what made me scared to see him today. Today is going to be harder than yesterday. I'm sure of it.

The chefs came rolling out the kitchen with a cart of food. From bacon, eggs, pancakes, pudding, to orange juice and tea. Once we got our food, we began eating. I ended up getting one of everything because why not? I finished up wiping my mouth from the crumbs on my face and set it down. I laid back in my seat and sighed.

I think I ate too much.

I got up from my seat and bowed to excuse myself from the hall.

"Wait a second, Y/N." I stopped and turned around to see my mother looking at me. I then remembered that I was having another meeting with Karma. I motioned my eyes to Karma and got up from his seat and headed out the door. 

He took a while to understand what I meant, but after a few seconds his eyes widened and got out from his seat and bowed. His parents nodded of approval.

I sighed, he was right beside me while we were walking to the pond. We arrived at the pond shortly after and I sat on the seats provided for us. I set my umbrella to lean on my chair while a maid had poured me a cup of tea. I quietly sipped my tea while looking at the water.

I felt a stare and I frowned slightly. I turned my head to see Karma looking at me and he quickly looked away. I shrugged it off and continued to look at the pond.

About 15 minutes later, I got bored of sipping tea and looking at the pond. I put down the tea on the table and then walked over to the boat floating on the water. I smiled and told the guards to get it ready. Just like that, I was sitting on a boat, along with Karma.

"Let me join you." Karma said.

"If you want to, then go ahead." I say. We both got on the boat.

I looked at the lily pads and fish that were swimming in the water. I dipped my hand in the water, it was cold. A fish came towards my hand and swimmed away quickly. I lifted my hand from the water and I pat it dry after I saw a really small patch of blood.

"Oh."

"What is it?" Karma said, confused. I held out my middle finger and realized what I had done. Karma scoffed and I put my hand up again with all my fingers up this time and pointed to my middle finger.

"Ohh, that's what you meant." Karma said grabbing my wrist. "It's not too bad." My eyes widened at the action he did. He let go of my wrist and looked away.

My face started turning red and he looked back and chuckled.

"Stop laughing at me." I say, frowning.

He poked my forehead, "Keep frowning and your face will have wrinkles."

"Right." I rolled my eyes.

He looked away and dipped his hand into the pond and I saw him flinch.

"Is the water too cold for your highness?" I laughed.

"Whatever." Karma muttered.

He removed his hand from the water and wiped his hand dry from the towel I used.

"Eh."

...

After a few hours, me and Karma had finished our boat ride and I patted my dress to get the leaves off that were on my dress.

"What time is it?" I say, still patting my dress.

"17:45, Miss. L/N" A guard says after whipping out his watch.

"Huh?" I say, titling my head a bit. A hand touches my head, I look to see who it is.

"He means 5:45pm silly." He let his hand off my head and I turned away trying to figure out what just happened. My brain was spinning in circles.

...

I heard Karma sigh, "Nevermind." He puts his hands in his pockets and the guards lead us to a big room. A lot of seats and a big fireplace. I curtsy while Karma bows as we enter the room. We took a seat on a small couch.

I sit down while Karma sits next to me. We were too close. I noticed my parents had looked surprised, along with Karma's parents.

"Why are you surprised?" I say. Karma nodded.

My dad cleared his throat, "Nothing."

We then sat there for 2 long hours discussing the wedding plans. Like who we should invite, food, main color for the wedding, clothing, cake, hair and makeup, seating arrangement, and etc.

I tried to listen as much as possible but, my eyelids got heavy and I soon fell asleep.

Karma and Y/N have been getting a bit closer. (Kinda.)
