The Crowned Enemies

Chapter 13: Karma's POV

"Karma, come get your suit." My mother shouted from across the room. She was holding a hanger with my clothes on it and I went to go grab it.

 "Thanks mom." I replied and headed back into my room. I changed into my suit and put on my shoes.

The carriage arrives revealing Y/N in a long light blue dress that reaches her ankles. She smiled and she saw me and walked up towards me and curtesy. I bow in response and I lend out my arm for her to cling on. She wrapped her arms around it and we headed towards the ball room.

"I bet you're wearing flats." I joked. She stepped on my foot and I gasped. 

"Dancing isn't my best skill." She jeered at me. I laugh and we arrive at the ballroom entrance. 

In front of us were many royal families. Y/N gulped as she saw all the families staring at us.

 "You're going to be fine." I whispered. Y/N looked back at me and furrowed her eyebrows.

"With all these people staring at us? Remember, we have to dance together in front of all the people." She whispered back. I shrug and we headed down the stairs. Y/N saw Aoi and Kazuko and headed towards them.

"Aoi! Kazuko!" Y/N exclaimed towards them. Aoi smiled and hugged her tightly. She then handed Y/N food and she happily accepted it and ate it.

"Don't eat too much or your stomach is going to hurt." I say to Y/N while I fist bump Kazuko. 

"Let her be." Kazuko replied. I rolled my eyes and saw that Aoi and Y/N disappeared. 

"Y/N? Aoi?!" I shout. Kazuko looked around and saw Y/N across the room getting a glass of wine and holding it. I quickly walked to her and saw that Y/N had drank it already. "Y/N?! Why'd you drink this before the dance? You could be drunk." I sighed. I grabbed the empty wine glass and dragged her to a bench.

 "I can manage a few drinks you know," leaning her head on my shoulder. "Can I drink after the dance?" She asked me. I thought about it for a while and then I nodded. She raised her arms to the arm happily and set them back down and leaned against the wall.

"Thank you for coming tonight," a voice said. Me and Y/N looked for the announcer and saw that my dad was on there. "I hope you enjoy the food and the music. But first," He continued, "We need the first dance from our future King and Queen of this Kingdom." He said, glancing towards us.

All the guests turned to look at us. I jumped a bit with the amount of eyes and awkwardly waved. Y/N just smiled and waved. We both stood up and I offered her my hand as we walked to the center of the ballroom.

I placed one of my hands on her waist. Y/N put her hand on my shoulder. With our free hand, we intertwined and the music started dancing.

The first was slowly and she kept looking down at her feet to make sure she didn't step on my feet. 

"You'll be fin-" She steps on my foot on accident. 

"Whoops," she says looking back up at me. I chuckled. We continued to dance for a good 10 more minutes. Once the orchestra was done playing, we both relaxed our hands. I bowed and she curtesy.

 The audience clapped their hands and Y/N glanced at Aoi and Kazuko who were giving us thumbs up. Y/N smiled and thumbs up back at them.

Y/N had gotten drowsy from all the food she ate along with the wine she drank. She laid on the bed in the guest bedroom and I was sitting on the couch. 

"My stomach..." She yelled. She started punching the pillows and fell asleep.

...

A few days after the ball everything was set for next year. It was going to be pretty busy too. Maids were all over the palace with sheets of papers and files. Royal palace gardeners were often tending the garden.

 I played around with my pen and sighed. I continued filling out papers or agreements. Some were ridiculous and some were okay.

I got up and went to the palace kitchen and made myself a sandwich. I ate it and returned to my office. I eventually got tired and fell asleep on my desk.

The next morning was a bit unexpected. I had to go out with my parents for wedding fits and it was exhausting putting one suit and then another and another. We ended up with a nice suit that had a nice collar and coat. I wondered then what dress Y/N would pick.

...

Later that evening, Y/N had arrived at the castle while I was busy doing my paperwork. She read the books on my shelves and went outside often for fresh air.

 "Aren't you bored?" I say. She looks back at me and shakes her head, 'no'. "Are you hungry?"

"No." She replies lying on the couch. "Are you?"

"No. I ate a while ago." I reply, she nods and dozes to sleep. Later that night she woke up and looked around my office again. She lights a candle and attempts to put it out with her finger. 

"Look, the ash from the fire made the tip of my finger black." She shows me. I take out my handkerchief and wipe away the ash. I blow out the candle and she frowns. She then throws it at me and hits my head. I turned around to her dashing out of my office.

"AOI!" Y/N screamed, "I ACCIDENTLY HIT KARMA'S HEAD!" She said, shaking Aoi.

"Oh- I can't do anything about that." Aoi replied, rolling her eyes. Y/N relaxed and waved goodbye to Aoi and walked back into my office. I see her walk her in and smile at me. My heart beated fast and she sat down on the couch deciding what to do.

...

"Karma, can we get some-" She paused as I kissed her on the lips. I realized what I did and moved back blushing. She blushed and looked back at me. "Karma?" She questioned, her finger touching her lips on where I kissed her.

"Sorry, I didn't ask for your permission." I quickly replied bowing low. She shook her head and she picked up the tea cup and examined it.

 I sat next to her and I kiss her on the cheek. She drops the tea cup and breaks it on the floor. She looked back at me. "Look what you've done, you literally made me drop a pretty tea cup." She said picking the tea cup pieces with her bare hands. I grab her shoulder to pull her back.

"Wait for tomorrow for a maid to pick it up." I say, grabbing her hand and leading her to the balcony. The moon glistened in the night and Y/N's eye glowed up as she stared at the stars and the moon. I tightened her hand and she nodded for permission.

I leaned in and kissed her. "Can I? Use my.." I awkwardly said. 

"Yeah whatever, don't take it too far though." Y/N replied. We smiled and we continued kissing. I slowly slid my tongue into her mouth. The kiss was warm. I got carried away and she bit my tongue and I parted my lips from hers. 

"Didn't I tell you not to go too far?" Y/N flicked my forehead.

 "Sorry." I yawned.

"I'll go to sleep now." Y/N waved as she exited my door. I blushed after she left the door.
