Chapter Thirty Two

You peeked out to the stage, watching curiously as the reporters and the cameras shone at the empty space where the announcer was speaking.
You'd only ever done something like this once before.
Unlike your costars, you weren't experienced with this stuff in slightest.
You clutched onto your hands, which were beginning to shake due to all the nerves, feeling your heart racing in your chest. Every single thing about this situation was utterly terrifying. And absolutely exhausting.
So many things could go wrong. If you messed up even once, that would end in a whole lot. Not a good lot.
That was when someone tapped on your shoulder. You flinched slightly, hearing an instant apology fall from their lips. You turned to see Jungwoo, whose black hair you still haven't really gotten used to, towering over you, leaning beside where you were standing.
"You okay, Y/N?" He asked, hovering a comforting hand over your shoulder. You nodded, tucking a few loose strands of your hair behind your ear.
"Just nervous." You explained as briefly as you could, adjusting your deep crimson dress that matched the tie that Jungwoo was wearing. You seriously forgot how tall he was sometimes. It had been quite a while since you had last saw him.
You felt an arm sling around your neck, your nerves slowly fading as soon as you heard the familiar giggle of that lively girl.
"Hey, Suhyun." Jungwoo waved smally at her, making Suhyun grin with excitement at the man beside the two of you. She pulled you closer to her, making you laugh. Her own dark juniper green dress, which was a long gown unlike your skintight, just above your knees halter dress. It was uncomfortable to say the least, but this was your job. And you had to admit, you looked pretty nice in it. Though you would've liked it more if it didn't accentuate all of your curves. You all stared at each other in silence, all looking to be examining the other in every way possible, or taking a moment of peace before getting out in the spotlight. Quite literally. The sound of rather loud dress shoes clanking on the marble tiled ground, the uniform beat of the clicks somewhat putting your mind at ease.
"Good evening guys." The familiar voice greeted, making you break out into a smile.
Of course those shoes were his.
You looked around in all directions until your eyes finally landed on the typically suited Changkyun, his tie matching the color of Suhyun's dress.
Were you jealous? Maybe a little bit.
But if anything, he was the one that would be boiling with jealousy.
A little jealousy~
You'd typically go in for a short hug, seeing as it was your first time seeing him in a while but his eyes looked towards all the behind the scenes cameras that were pointed towards you so you kept your lonely arms to yourself.
Sometimes you were just as clingy as he was.
You liked the clingy though.
Suhyun slipped her arm off your shoulder, moving over towards Jungwoo so that Changkyun could take the place next to you. And he did.
"Good evening, Kyun." You giggled, for some reason just way too excited to see his face. He mirrored your smile, eyeing the cameras that were a few couple feet away from the group of you before taking a small step closer to you. Jungwoo and Suhyun turned to each other, rolling their eyes at the two of you before turning back to face you both.
"Oh, shut up, you're dating my little sister." You scoffed, watching his eyes widen as he put a finger to his lips, shushing you as his eyes darted from one side of the backstage area to the other.
"Don't say that so loudly. What if someone hears?" He exclaimed quietly, making you slap a hand over your mouth.
"You guys can head out now." A staff member peeped into your little circle, immediately seeing herself out into the background. Jungwoo stepped forward, offering his arm out to you. You swiftly looped your own around his. He looked over his shoulder to throw and apologetic look at Changkyun who was now standing behind you,
"I'm sorry about this." He gestured towards your interlocked arms and Changkyun shook his head, waving him off  and muttering that it was fine before you walked out onto the platform stage in front of all of those reporters and all of those cameras. Jungwoo leaned down, whispering some encouraging words to you but you simply stared absently into the flashing of the cameras as you both headed out, Suhyun and Changkyun following close behind the both of you. The constant sound of cameras shuttering and reporters clapping echoed the room. You tried your best to smile at each camera that you managed to differentiate, watching and waiting as the announcer directed the four of you into various group pictures, solo, and duo, as well as a random picture of You, Changkyun, and Jungwoo. You stood on that stage, beaming as you all answered each and every question with a smile.
Despite the nerves, everything about being up here was so exhilarating. You'd never imagined that that sixteen year old girl that was following her late father's dreams would actually make it.
Yet here she is.
She definitely made it.
