The only thing that kept me going with my search for him was gone. I just lost it - him. Forever.

A faint beep snatched my eyes away from the ceiling, my hand groping for the phone under my pillow.

If I remembered it right, the wedding would start at nine, kaya ibig sabihin niyan may ilang oras nalang ako para mag-prepare.

I exhaled, closing my eyes for a moment. I didn't even get a second of sleep.

When my phone rang, I immediately knew I was screwed. "Fiona?" I groaned, partly dead inside.

"Tulog ka pa?" Her voice boomed in my ears. "Jannah, alas-sais na ah!"

"Antok pa ako," I protested, but she already hung up on me.

Pulling myself up in bed, I smoothed my hair with my hand as I tied it with the scrunchie on my wrist.

I woke myself up with a splash of cold running water in the bathroom before proceeding back to my room.

The vague droplets of rain from the rooftop enthralled me, so I pulled my window curtains to check outside. I was right. It was drizzling, gloom washing the sky gray.

I could see a silhouette moving from the closed curtain.

Sliding my window up a little, the cool air travelled through my skin as I extended my arm out, tiny spots of liquid gliding past my palm.

A memory of me soaking under the rain as a child flashed in my mind.

Just then, Asher's window creaked open. His face registered shock as I stared back at him.

His chuckle reached my room and I glared at him.

Asher cupped his hands as if trying to collect gold bars from heaven. Pinanood ko lang siya habang ginagawa niya ito, not even fazed by the fact I was literally seeing his childish act.

"Seriously?" I mouthed. Gusto kong tumawa pero pinigilan ko ito.

"What? I can't hear you!" He yelled, his voice resonating the whole neighborhood as he flailed his arms out.

I crossed my hands over my chest as I tried to figure out how such a kid fit into that tall human being.
