Chapter 9: Close Call

     "I'll kill them all," (Y/N) heard Eren. He was standing in front of the three friends and looking at members of the Garrison Regiment. There was a large number of soldiers holding their ODM swords and others holding guns. (Y/N) held his swords in hand and looked up the wall to see a cannon pointed at them.

     "Eren?" Armin asked as he tried to get Eren to snap out of it.

     "We can talk this out!" (Y/N) yelled.

     "Trainee Jaeger!" The captain yelled. (Y/N) recognized him as the captain who gave the first speech before Trost. "As well as Trainees Ackerman, Arlert and Tybur, what you're doing is an act of treason! We may decide to kill you on the spot, If you attempt to lie to us, or make a single move, We will fire and HE projectile at you, we will not hesitate. Answer me at once! What are you? Are you a man? Or a titan?"

     "I d-don't understand the question," Eren said back.

     "He's pretending to know nothing? MONSTER! Try that again and I'll blow you to pieces. It only takes a second! You won't have time to reveal your true form!"

     "True form?" Eren said confused.

     "Eren you transformed into a titan in front of everyone," (Y/N) whispered to Eren.

     "Plenty of people saw you, you emerged from your titan form! Humanity has permitted a creature like you to infiltrate Wall Rose! Even if you are trainees of the king, the safest course of action is to eliminate the risk immediately! The Armored Titan that broke Wall Maria could appear at any moment! It's a massive risk to humanity's safety! Do you understand?"

     "I understand, however it's obvious cadet Jaeger has no recollection right now. He's human, one hundred percent," (Y/N) explained.

     "You're definitely trying to trick us! I will fire an HE projectile at you all with no hesitation," The other Garrison troops talked among themselves and (Y/N) scanned the crowd left and right.

     "We should dismember him now when he's in his human form,"

     "That's my specialty, I am willing to show you anytime," Mikasa threatened. She put her swords out in a threatening manner.

    "Mikasa, you're usually so smart but that's idiotic," (Y/N) whispered.

     "Commander, that's Mikasa Ackerman, she was in the rearguard with us, she's worth a hundred other soldiers, it would be a great loss if we lost her," A soldier informed him.

     "Hey! Guys what's going on?" Eren asked. (Y/N) took his hand and put it on Mikasa's wrist pulling her sword down, she voluntarily pulled her other sword down and (Y/N) looked back to Eren.

     "Look around Eren, figure it out," (Y/N) saw Eren look at his left arm. He looked at it with confusion and (Y/N) stared at the captain.

     "I'll ask you once more! What are you?" He yelled. Mikasa, Armin and (Y/N) looked back at Eren waiting for an answer.

     "A human!"

     "I see...then don't hate me for this," He started to raise his hand. "There's no avoiding it. No one can prove that they are not the devil,"

     He put his hand all the way up and the Garrison troops at the cannon raised their hands back. (Y/N) ran back and shielded over the three of them, a part of him wanted to shift but the other part trusted Eren. The captain slammed his hand down and the cannon fired. (Y/N) watched as Eren bit his hand and yellow lightning blind him. After a few seconds some of the smoke and steam disappeared and (Y/N) saw that Eren had shifted to catch the cannon ball. (Y/N) looked around and saw he was in the ribcage of Eren's titan. (Y/N) stayed quiet and looked around waiting for the steam to clear out.
