Chapter 8: Prepare For Trouble

~Kokichi's POV~

I woke up cradled in Shuichi's arms. He was still sound asleep. I should leave soon so DICE isn't worried. But I don't want to raise suspicion if I leave while he's sleeping.

I sighed and looked at Shuichi. He looks so much better without that emo hat. He looks so peaceful. I had the sudden urge to play with his hair. So I ran my fingers through it. It felt so soft under my touch. I wonder how that piece of hair always sticks up. I tried to flatten it but no luck. I looked back at Shuichi's face. His golden eyes slowly opened.

"Morning sleepyhead," I said.

"Good morning Kokichi," He replied.

He slowly got up from the couch. I got up as well.

"Are you hungry for breakfast?" He asked.

"Nope, I'm-" my stomach growled.

"Clearly you are."

Shuichi chuckled and walked to the kitchen. He poured some cereal for us and we ate in comfortable silence. Afterward, I pulled Shuichi in for a hug.

"Thanks for letting me stay Shuichi! I gotta get going now, but I'll see you soon."

"Anytime Kokichi and I'm sure we'll see each other again."

We pulled away and I walked out his door. I took out the hint for the next heist. I quickly put it down then walked back to the DICE hideout. Once I got there I ran over to everyone in time out.

"Boss when exactly will they no longer be in time out?" Shota asked.

"When they learn from their crimes," I stated.

Shota sighed as I walked over to Miu's room. I barged it in and closed the door.

"Hey, bitchlet is that telescope ready?"

"Yup here you go Kich."

She handed me a hot pink telescope with light pink stripes all around.

"Also, I know you still don't forgive those virgins, but you should at least give them another chance."

"Miu listen, I know you're trying to help. But everyone is telling me to let them be free. I want to, but also they went behind my back! I feel ashamed as a leader."

"Kich, you're the ultimate supreme leader for a reason. I may be a genius, but I could never lead DICE the way you do. You always make everyone feel welcomed and accepted. Sure you may be a piece of shit sometimes, but we all see past that."

"Wow, who knew bitchlet was a motivational speaker?"

"Don't you dare tell the others about this!"

"Nishishishi~ I won't now buh bye!"

I walked out of the room with the telescope.

"Guess what good news everyone is no longer in time out!"

I uncuffed everyone and they all cheered. Then, they started complaining about me putting them in time out.

"You could've cut us some slack Boss we were just trying to help," Yamoto commented.

"But we did turn against him," Yoshiko pointed out.

"Still that little abortion needs to chill out. Sometimes I can't believe that midget is our leader," Rin argued.

"Shut the fuck up all of you! Especially Rin! Usually, I can tolerate your rudeness but that's too far. I feel ashamed that I have to say this, but you can't just go around and say shit like that! I'm the leader whether you like it or not!"

I stormed to my room and locked the door. I picked up Angel and held him tightly. They really are reckless. Especially after Hiroto died. They never liked him as much as I did. They always said he was gaining our trust to one day turn us in. That was probably the biggest lie I've ever heard. Instead, we got into a fight with the Yakuza. Resulting in his death and countless injuries. Since everyone thought he was missing they assumed I killed him. Considering he was wearing a DICE uniform. I would never kill someone, especially him. He was so kind and thoughtful. His long pink hair was always in a braid. He was so beautiful. I still do have some feelings for him, but not romantically. There's still a big hole in my heart. Hiroto filled it halfway, but not completely. Will anyone ever fill that hole. Rantaro was a possibility, but he broke up with me. He said he could tell I was still lovesick about Shuichi. Which he wasn't wrong I just didn't realize it at the time. Shuichi hasn't changed, and nor have my feelings about him. Whenever I see him my worries instantly feel like they don't exist. He makes me so happy, but he still has a grudge against me. Well only against Ichi. I like the rush I get when I go on heists, but after a few days I secretly give the items back. I have sold a few, only if I know the person can live without it. We don't have a huge elaborate plan with the items anyway. Also, I always feel guilty afterward. I used to never return items. I blame Hiroto for making me a softie. Even though we were pretty close he's rarely seen the real me without a facade. Only people I trust with my life have seen me so vulnerable. My trust for DICE though has gone down a bit. Especially Rin. Sure Liu called me abortion before she realized my mom tried to kill me multiple times, even when she was sober. My dad died when I was little thanks to a car crash. He was chasing after me and got run over. According to her at least. I don't have any memory of that happening, so for all, I know that could be a lie she told herself. Oh well, I don't care either way.

Also, Rin calling me a midget is another forbidden insult. The bullies in my school called me that and even carved it on my neck. No one in DICE knows that, but they know not to say it. I won't punish her that'll just make her angrier. Insults and ignoring her will be rude enough.

I looked at Hiroto's watch on Angel's wrist. I have two hours until the heist. Tonight's heist was stealing Rantaro's map during a boat party he's holding. He won't know where to go, but he won't be the one driving. Taishi, one of our members is the driver. He won't have the map, but Miu's telescope still should get everyone home safely. It works by entering your destination. Then you look into it and it tells you exactly how to get there.

I got changed into my Phantom Thief clothes.

"You ready Boss?" Taichi asked from outside my room.

"Yuppers," I answered.

I put my mask on and we headed to Rantaro's party. Everyone there better prepare for trouble.
