"Jack! Jack! Jaaack!"
Kristoff's voice was heard filling the living room of Jack's house even though he was still outside. He rang the bell so many times but Jack still didn't come out. And now with the shouting added, still nothing happened.
"Ah, you took so long. I'm coming in!" Kristoff sang his last words.
And with one turn of the knob, Kristoff managed to open the front door and looked around. The house was deserted, making Kristoff step inside to find out where Jack was. He saw an unfinished painting not far from the living room, but there was no sign of Jack. So, he decided to sit on the couch waiting, maybe Jack was getting ready, he thought.
"Jack! Come on, we have to go. It's afternoon already. We could be late. Jaa-ouch!!" Kristoff shouted rubbing his head because suddenly he seemed like he had just been hit with something on the back of his head.
"Ssstt!! Don't be noisy! Elsa is sick. She is resting upstairs." Jack put his index finger to his lips, glaring at Kristoff. Instantly made Kristoff cover his mouth with the palm of his hand.
"Sorry." Kristoff stood up and followed Jack who started tidying up his painting equipment which had been neglected because he had to take care of Elsa earlier. "That means, Elsa isn't working today?" He added.
"She left for work this morning but she came back again. She's running a very high fever."
"Poor her." Kristoff glanced upstairs where Elsa's room was and let out a deep breath.
"Okay, done. Come on, let's go." Jack looked left and right to make sure everything was in order and was okay to leave. It was very strange to see him responsible like that. However, it was Kristoff who was in doubt.
"Is it okay to leave Elsa alone?"
"She's sleeping now. Her medicine is very potent. Five minutes after taking it, she went straight to sleep. Besides, it won't take long, right? I promised her I would buy her soup." Said Jack, cleaning his hands of the paint that had stuck to him after clearing up the palette and paint.
"Alright, then. My car?" Kristoff gestured his hand pointing out of the house, making Jack nod in agreement.
"Yes. Your car. Come on, let's go." Jack looked very serious and wanted to do this right away because he wanted to go home immediately. He couldn't leave Elsa alone for too long.
And finally, after an uphill battle for cookbooks, Jack and Kristoff returned home from wandering the rough city streets that evening. When they were in the library, they had a hard time getting the exact location of the cookbooks in the middle of a sea of various kinds of books. And when they asked where they could get the cookbooks, they always caused a fuss because when you're in the library of course you have to be quiet, and you know, when Jack and Kristoff combined, the result was not quiet. It was the opposite.
Not to mention that after they were finish from the library, Jack kept giving the wrong directions where to buy soup for Elsa. Luckily Kristoff had the idea of using GPS so that finally, after three wrong addresses, they arrived at the right place.
And now, Jack was holding the bowl of hot soup in his hand as he made his way very carefully up to the stairs. When he checked on Elsa a while ago, she was still sleeping so he went back down to the kitchen to prepare the soup.
He pushed open the door with his foot and stepped inside. When he saw the figure of his wife who was still sleeping under the blanket, he felt reluctant to wake her up. But, Elsa had to fill her stomach with something, and he had already brought a very special soup because he had misplaced it many times to get it.
