She's got a smile that it seems to me
Reminds me of childhood memories
Where everything was as fresh as the bright blue sky
Now and then when I see her face
She takes me away to that special place
And if I stare too long, I'd probably break down and cry
Axl Rose's shrill voice echoed through Jack's house that morning, accompanying him to do push-ups, sit-ups and other movements that couldn't even be called exercise moves. He was just doing random movements that he thought would bring his muscles back to life after so long of no use for anything other than painting. He grabbed the remote control and used it as a microphone and sing along with the song.
"Whoa, oh, oh
Sweet child o' mine
Whoa, oh, oh, oh
Sweet love of mine"
He put the remote down on the coffee table again and did squat-jumps.
She's got eyes of the bluest skies
As if they thought of rain
I'd hate to look into those eyes and see an ounce of pain
Her hair reminds me of a warm safe place
Where as a child I'd hide
And pray for the thunder and the rain to quietly pass me by
Whoa, oh, oh
Sweet child o' mine
Whoa, oh-
Suddenly the music stopped and Elsa was already standing in the living room pointing the remote at the television. She raised one of her perfectly shaped eyebrows.
"Hey, Rocky. Easy. Exercise is fine, but don't disturb the neighbors." Elsa put one hand on her waist. That morning she still looked casual wearing only jeans and a loose t-shirt with the picture of the eiffel tower in front.
Jack heard his encouraging music stop, immediately stopped his movement and looked around in confusion. His concentration shattered to pieces. When he finally noticed Elsa's presence, he raised his hands in front of his chest, palms facing forward.
"Whhoaa. Hold on. Why did you turn off the music?" Jack stood up, staggering out of breath. His hand moved to comb his hair which was now wet with sweat.
"Because it's noisy!" Elsa whispered-yelled. Her newly combed hair swayed with the movement of her head.
"I need concentration, Elsa." Jack reached for the remote and looked for the button he had to press to get the music back on. "Okay? I need concentration because I'm going into a battle." He said his last sentence in a low voice.
"What? Going into a battle?" Elsa felt like she heard wrong. "What battle?"
"A battle to win you over." Jack mumbled, he found the right button and then the music came back loud.
"What?!" Elsa had to scream against the loudness of the music, she grabbed the remote and turned it off again.
Under normal circumstances, Jack would be annoyed that his activities were interrupted. But when he remembered that he had to be nice to Elsa, he grinned very widely and put on his handsome face as charming as he could.
"I'm concentrating on exercising, Elsa. So that I can be healthy." Jack's hand moved and gently grabbed the remote from Elsa's hand.
Elsa let Jack take over the remote but then she pouted, playing with his fingers. "Don't you want quality time with me? Tonight I'm leaving for Norway, Jack."
"You're not going to Norway."Jack muttered, banging the remote against his palm because it seemed the remote wouldn't work.
"What?" Elsa didn't quite hear what her husband said.
"You're not going." Jack's mutter was inaudible over the sound of a remote banging his palm. And that annoyed Elsa a little.
"Jack, what were you talking about? Why do you keep muttering?"
