April and Jayden walked together to Lexie's room, Adrian who was still on bedrest could not join them and meet Lexie due to his condition.
The scene was dreadful, Lexie was lying still conscious. The burns on her skin began for the bottom of her throat and made their way down to her chest and her arms were burnt on the shoulder area, luckily the fire spared her beguiling visage.
All of that for a worthless asshole who did not even care for her. April had shivers tickling her spine, she tried not to look uncomfortable taking Lexie's feelings into consideration.
She made her way to the sofa and sat next to Jayden.
"Hey Lex, how are you feeling?" April asked in a low tone, though the answer was quite clear.
Lexie did not even answer April's question and being she had to ask.
"Did ant of you punch him really hard? I would do it myself, but you see it's going to take me a long time to do so." her tone was weakened.
Jayden was stirred and did not hesitate in answering that on April's behalf.
"Our girl April here, kicked that bastard right in the nut."
"Wait really?" Lexie tried to sit up, but she could not even move a finger from soreness, throbbing in agony.
April opened her mouth in order to answer Lexie's question but was cut off by the entire room's jaws to be dropped as a elevated intern came into the room.
He had perfectly curled dark black hair, gleaming blue eyes and his smile was his most captivating feature. His cheeks were a beautiful mixture of both red and orange which led to his flawless sharp jawline. He looked about twenty one years of age, pretty young to be a doctor but since he was still an intern in was reasonable.
"I'm Doctor Christopher Wild, and I will be your doctor for today, I just need to run a few tests and can get going." Christopher explains.
"Uh yeah sure go ahead." Jayden mumbles.
"I'm sorry I was unclear, would you ladies mind stepping outside for a few minutes, it's protocol." he was clear this time.
The girls made their way outside and peaked from the glass window, Lexie's cheeks were taken by the color red and it could not be more obvious.
The Doctor checked her temperature, heartbeat... Just like any typical round they did on hospitalized patients.
It took him about 15 minutes to finish up and the girls went back inside.
"So you like him don't you." Jayden asks with no hesitation in mind.
"He's okay, not really my type though." Lexie seemed quite unbothered by the question and seemed to have answered truthfully.
"Yes, I forgot all you do is fall for worthless assholes." Jayden says under her breath, April hears and taps her with her elbow her eyes wide.
And when visiting hours were over April walked Jayden outside and found her way back to her room.
The poor girl was drained her head felt very light as she kept pacing left and right, but it was no big fuss, she ignored it.
As she opened the door she notices Adrian sound asleep and pulls up a chair placing it right next to his bed whilst laying her head on his firm chest.
April didn't know any life before she met Adrian.
He was it
Life itself
She had been feeling so overwhelmed lately but in this moment of peace she knew nothing but pure joy.
Minutes later Adrian opened his eyes and noticed April laying there. A beam lit up his face as he did not want to wake her and rested his head again going back to sleep.
The next day...
April found herself in her own bed.
How did she get there?
Adrian wasn't in his bed, he was still supposed to be on bedrest. She quickly leaped out of bed and put on her jacket to look for him. She looked all over the floor but found nothing and went back to her room.
Adrian was there standing in the center of the room with papers in hand.
"Adrian Danes! You're supposed to be in bed! You scared me half to death!" she was out of breath for walking around so many times.
"Ace I have to tell you something, listen..."
"Not another word, come here." she says pulling him by his arms and sitting him down on his bed.
"Okay, now that you are sitting down, you may speak." she lets him know.
He pointed at the papers he had in his hand they were his DNR papers.
"I've already seen those Adrian, you don't have to shove them in my face again." she looks away unable to look at them, he grabs her chin and turns her face till it meets his and without saying anything rips the DNR papers to their shreds.
"What?" April stars at him disoriented.
"I revoked my DNR orders Ace. I would spend my entire life on a machine with a 1% chance of waking up, if it ever meant waking up and seeing your face again." he says he voice sincere and gentle, he had never loved like this before.
April jumped him and wrapped her arms around his dense shoulders never wanting to let go from contentment.
That was until Adrian groaned in pain from the intensity of April's hug so she immediately let go.
"No, no April don't let go."
She hugs him again, this time delicately. She could not cause him more pain.
April eventually got up and grabbed her laptop playing a random movie on Netflix.
They were both cuddled up against one another like usual. April was deeply invested in the movie, she kept yelling at the characters for doing everything wrong. Adrian though, didn't even know what the movie was about helplessly admiring his girlfriend.
By the end of the movie April's nausea was getting intolerable and her head was pounding, she did not want to say anything to Adrian because he would worry and it is most likely nothing at all plus her pain was probably nothing compared to his and he never complained.
April sat up to get a cup of water, Adrian kissing her forehead before she left the bed.
As she poured water in her glass cup she kept feeling dizzier by the second,
Her cup eventually and helplessly fell from her hand and crashed to the floor into a million pieces,
Adrian turned around due to the noise as April dropped to the ground right in front of him,
"April!" Adrian screams...
