Chapter 17

That same night, when the door slammed opened:

April and Adrian jumped out of their seats in horror, it was Lavender AGAIN, doing this definitely become a habit of hers, a worried look on her face she came running inside, she kept pacing right and left

" Hey Lavender, care to tell us what's going on?" Adrian asks very pissed, she had cut off their special moment once again.

" Can one of you like lock the door? I'm just going to hang in here for a while." she replies shaking.

" Why would we lock the door Lavender?" April seemed worried.

" Ah nothing much, just CRAZY EX BOYFRIEND running after me to "talk"." she says pretty casually.

" You need to be more specific cause that sounds psychotic." Adrian shoots back.

" Well, we dated for a year he was amazing at first, but I had missed all the red flags, last thing I know he starts beating me up and threatening me. It got messy and he was abusive more than ever. Eventually, I broke up with him but he clearly hasn't gotten the memo yet." Lavender tells the couple.

" Lavender, I'm so sorry you that sound horrifying can stay here for as long as you want to, and we'll find a way to get rid of him I promise." April reassures her.

During that entire conversation, they had forgotten to lock the door. The door started creaking very slowly, Lavender ran to the bathroom, hid inside and switched the lock. A muscular man with parted jet black hair and green eyes was now standing tall in the middle of the room.

" Could you save me the trouble and tell me where I could find Lavender, you probably know her she's popular everywhere she goes, even hospitals." he smirks.

" Sorry, we can't help you with that." Adrian declares in confidence.

April was shaking in her bed, but it didn't really show.

" See I can tell that you're lying to me." he comes closer." Tell me where she is and we'll both be out of your shoes in no time." he threatens.

Lavender was standing on the toilet seat trembling from fear her hand on a top shelf, without noticing she knocks out a bottle of shampoo.

The guy quickly glances over to the bathroom door and walks straight up to it, before he could reach the doorknob to try and open it, Adrian's body had already blocked the door.

" I suggest you take a few steps back because there is no way in hell you're coming in inch closer to Lavender." Adrian yells.

Lavender's ex didn't bother saying a word, he stared deep into Adrian's eyes and threw a punch right through his face.

April immediately sat up and was getting ready to scream for help until Adrian got up and threw another punch at him. The boy was ready to kick Adrian's ass until he glanced at the window and saw a doctor coming closer with a certain Lexie. He quickly opened the room door and ran outside, April looked at Adrian and told him to drop it, but he couldn't and he ran after him.

Lexie was now in the room. Lavender was still in the bathroom frozen unable to come out.

April acted cool not wanting to pressure Lavender into coming out.

Adrian ran outside and cornered him, then he opened his mouth to speak but before he could another punch came through his jawline. Before they knew it they were both fighting each other like crazy, and that's when Jayden passed by but Adrian hadn't noticed her.

Adrian had finally thrown the last punch:" Listen, if I ever see you anywhere near Lavender ever again I'll deal with you even harder than this time." Adrian's breaths were now unsteady and his hands were covered in blood that was not his.

The boy's shadow ran across the rain obviously admitting to defeat, but Adrian had no clue if he would ever see him again.

Adrian was now painfully walking back into the hospital, a redhead was coming out he immediately noticed it was Jayden.

"Jayden!?" Adrian asks.

Jayden simply runs away from him into the dark to the point where he couldn't see her shadow anymore and he was too weak to run after her.

He went into his and April's room, Lexie wasn't there anymore. April quickly sat up and tried to get out of bed, Adrian rushed to her and stopped her from getting up.

"A- Adrian wh- why are your hands covered in blo- blood." she mumbles.

" Don't worry Ace, it's not mine." he tries to calm her down.

" So!? That doesn't make it okay- are you Alrigh?"

" We'll talk about it don't worry about me really I'm okay I promise, I just need to go and wash everything off." he replies.

He tried to open the bathroom door but it was still locked.

" Is Lavender still in there?" he mouthed to April.

April nodded yes.

" Hey Lavender he's gone, I promise, you can come out now." he says in a southing voice trying to calm her down, Adrian was a good person he really was, he had his anger issues and his problems but he was a good guy.

Two seconds later the door opened and Lavender rushed into Adrian's arms.

"Thank you." she says relived. " You're a really great friend."

Adrian had never had someone call him his friend ever, he had gained a friend and it felt really good he hugged Lavender back and said:" He won't have any business here ever again don't you worry."

Then Lavender rushed to April and gave her the biggest hug.

" I know that this is too much to ask, but would you guys mind if I crashed here?" Lavender asked.

" Yeah you can have my bed, and I'll crash on the couch." Adrian suggests.

" It's okay I can take the couch." Lavender replies.

Adrian insisted until Lavender grabbed a pillow and fell fast asleep. Adrian kept turning around on the couch unable to sleep.

" Hey Ace, you up?" he whispers.

"Wide awake." she replies. "Come here".

He then got up and laid next to April, they were both cuddled up against each other like the usual and April was playing with his hair.

"Adrian, aren't you going to tell me what happened out there?" she asks minutes later.

"Can we just stay like this and talk about it later?"

April gently nodded and continued playing with his hair, an hour later they both fell asleep in each other's arms...
