April's parents waited in the waiting room, Michael was there too they were very stressed and couldn't wait to know how the surgery was going. Michael couldn't shake the feeling that it was all his fault he was drowning in his own guilt. After 3 long hours, a doctor, a resident to be more specific came out and informed them that there were complications and that the surgery was not going exactly as good as they hoped it would. The resident told them that they were doing everything they could and that they're still hoping it would work.

"HOPING?! That's my daughter in there are you seriously telling me that all I can hang on to is HOPE!"

"Sir, I assure you we have our best medical team in there with your daughter that is all I can tell you for now I need to get back inside right away".

"I should have never let her go to that party " yelled her dad.

To his words Michael turned pale he felt like the next attack was going to be directly aimed at him, but April's dad didn't add a word. About an hour later April was out of surgery the doctors claimed that she needed to be moved into a semi-private room next to the ICU in case of any emergencies, they agreed.

April woke up a day later feeling even more strange the room she was sleeping in had changed no one was around so she had no idea what the hell had happened. Moments later her parents came in and explained the situation, April knew they were her parents because they told her they were yet she had no memory of them ever existing. They left to eat lunch at the cafeteria leaving April all alone once again.

--------------------------------------------

She went along to stare at the ceiling for about ten minutes until she heard a scratch on the door two girls had walked in. April said out of breath:" I'm sorry am I supposed to know you?"

"Not at all" replied the first girl. She had blond curly hair, a tad of freckles on her cheeks, small nose and the most gorgeous blue eyes and the other one had dyed long pink hair, blue eyes and rosy cheeks.

"I'm sorry that was rude we didn't introduce ourselves I'm Lily". said the girl with the pink hair

"And that would make me Lavender". said the blond.

"To explain why we're here, we kind of own this hospital, we've both been patients here for about 5 years each it's been our second home and we hear you've got a long stay here and we would like to make your stay as pleasing as possible". said Lily.

"What my friend here was actually trying to say was we're trying to make your stay as adventurous as possible if you would like that of course." replied Lavender.

Lavender sounded like the free one who would break all the rules while Lily sounded like the one who kept Lavender from getting into trouble or maybe dying a really dumb way. April thought about their proposal she had been feeling very lonely and could really use some fun. Of course she couldn't get out of bed for a few days but she accepted anyway.

She couldn't help but ask: "Hey I don't know if this is way to straight forward but I've been meaning to ask, what's been keeping you in this hospital for 5 years?

They answered the question as if they had a million times before.

Lavender said "Well I have cancer, leukemia stage 1 have been living on treatments for a long time".

Lily added: " I on the other hand have CF cystic fibrosis it's genetic mostly it causes severe damage to my lungs. I've been waiting for my lung transplant for about 4 years and a half and my doctors are telling me that they're close to finding me a perfect match".

" Oh God , you guys I'm so sorry... I really don't know what to say..."

"It's okay we've gotten used to it. So what are you in for?"

" Well as they told me, I was in car accident with my boyfriend and his airbag helped but I had no seat belt on so I flew out of the window and I now need a bunch of major surgeries oh, and did I mention I have no memory".

" Oh wow girl that must suck what do you say we stop feeling sorry for ourselves and I could go grab my laptop and some snacks and we could watch a movie or something?" asked Lily

"Oh yes that sounds perfect". replied April it would be the highlight of her week.

And so they did the movie was long and hilarious April hadn't laughed in days her new friends were just what she needed to get threw her time at the hospital. To their bad luck a nurse heard them laughing and kicked the girls out but they promised to swing by many times again.

The sun came down and her parents were back in to check on her they told her that her new 'roommate' should be here tonight. The roommate they were bringing in had been recently into a car accident as well so she would get someone that could understand her maybe, she thought to herself.

The night came by and the moon was shining and the stars were twinkling April was excited to meet her new roommate she thought about all the fun they could have together maybe paint each other's nails watch some fun movies and stuff. The door opened at it was definitely not who she expected. In front of her was a tall and handsome 6'ft tall brunette boy with insanely beautiful brown eyes and curly hair, being rolled in, in a hospital bed...
