(Monday after the fight)

The next day at school Kate was taking off her roller skates when Lucas came and sat on the bench next to her.

Lucas wrapped his arm around her and kissed her cheek. "Hey Katie." Lucas expected his newfound girlfriend to reply. But all she did was look at him and walked away.

Don't get her wrong she doesn't listen to Billy most times but when it comes to people she cares about she would do anything for them and if that means staying away so he won't get hurt by Billy then she'll stay away.

Kate left a sad and heartbroken Lucas thing he did something wrong but that all changed when Max came to talk to him.

"Hey, umm, I know we don't talk a lot but I have something to tell you." Max said. She loved her sister and she knew she liked Lucas so she would do anything to help her.

"I'm not in the mood Max." Lucas tried to walk away but Max said this, "It's about Kate." When she said that Lucas turned around real fast to see what she had to say.

Max explained everything she overheard from Saturday night. Lucas came up with a plan in order to get Kate to know he would do anything for her, even if that meant seeing Kate without her brother knowing.

(--------------------------------)

Kate was sitting on her bed drawing a colorful lion when she heard a knock at her window. She looked at her window and saw her dumbass boyfriend, Lucas.

"What are you doing here? Do you know what could happen to you!" Kate said, while pulling the idiot into her room.

"Kate, Max told me everything and I'm here to tell you that you don't have to stay away from me." Lucas explained to Kate.

Kate was about to say something but Lucas cut her off by kissing her. Kate was caught off guard but as soon as she knew what was happening she kissed him back. She moved her arms and set them on his shoulders and entwined her fingers. She pulled back because you know humans have to breathe. She was about to say something when she heard footsteps coming down the hall.

She shoved Lucas in her walk-in closet and pretended like she was getting a pencil sharpener from her desk when Billy came in.

"I'm heading out and Max is going to that lame ass arcade so do you want me to drop you off with her or are you staying here doing your hippie-dippy bullshit." Billy said, knowing that one of the things she got worked up.

"No. And it's not hippie bullshit you know I despise that shit all I'm doing is drawing. You can leave now." Really not wanting to keep her boyfriend in her closet with all her clothes, shoes, and UNDERWEAR.

Billy walked out her room with a smirk and Kate rushed to her closet but when she opened it she saw him with a box of things she never wanted anyone to see. Before he could open the box she snatched it out his hands.

"NEVER! Go through this please. This is the only thing I want to keep a secret. If you're wondering what was in her special rainbow box, it was her secrets and everything that she wanted to keep hidden from the world. Including the only thing that she had left of her dad. A gold pendent with a picture of him, Max, and herself.

"Ok, Ok just come on we have to go get Max and meet Dustin at a junkyard." Lucas said nonchalantly. "Uhh why?," "I'll explain on the way". Lucas said before going back out the window.
